'Our Universe' features a variety of actors who guarantee laughter and emotion.
The tvN new Wed-Thu drama Our Universe, which premieres on Feb. 4 (Wed) (directed by Lee Hyun-seok and Jeong Yeo-jin, written by Sujin and Shin I-hyeon, planned by Studio Dragon, produced by Scene & Studio Co., Ltd.), said on the 29th that it released still cuts of scene-stealers that further amplify the rich fun of the quaint youth "rom-com".
'Our Universe' depicts a chaotic cohabitation romance that unfolds when a married-in couple with a strained relationship suddenly ends up raising a 20-month-old nephew, "Uju (played by Park Yu-ho)." The story follows two people who are too close to be strangers and too distant to be family as they grow through the new "Uju" who has intruded into their worlds, offering fresh excitement and empathy. Directors Lee Hyun-seok and Jeong Yeo-jin, loved for their stylish direction, take the helm, and writers Sujin and Shin I-hyeon, known for their lively prose, co-wrote the script to ensure quality. Above all, there is great anticipation for the meeting of popular young actors Bae In Hyuk, Roh Jeong-Eui and Park Seoham.
Among the released photos, the impeccable presence of the scene-stealers fills the drama and piques curiosity. First, attention is drawn to the "Yuseong Villa family," who live next door and downstairs from Sun Tae-hyung (played by Bae In Hyuk) and Woo Hyun-jin (played by Roh Jeong-Eui). Kang Ae-sim delivers an irreplaceable performance as the kind neighborhood grandmother living next door, Park Ae-ja, and Kim In-kwon shows the comic power of a scene-stealer as Bae Du-sik, the self-proclaimed old-timer of Yuseong Villa and the neighborhood busybody who lives with Ae-ja. Han Ji-hyo and Im Seong-jun inject energy as the young couple living downstairs, Kim Ji-hyun and Lee Jae-min. They promise a pleasant synergy by helping Hyun-jin and Tae-hyung, who are struggling to raise Uju after unexpectedly losing relatives.
Jin Seo-yeon radiates a sharp gaze with extraordinary charisma. She plays Amy Chu, the wannabe of aspiring photographers and the hottest, most in-demand star photographer of the era, showing a different chemistry with Bae In Hyuk. Ku Sung-hwan appears as Jo Moo-saeng, Amy Chu's manager and husband and the head of "Film Pluto," demonstrating his presence. Also, Kim Ui-jun, a brother-like friend who shared joys and sorrows with Tae-hyung, and the junior Oh Seung-taek are played by Oh Hyun-jung and Yoon Woo, and Hyun-jin's longtime college friend Baek Se-yeon is played by Choi Gyu-ri, who will firmly support Sun Tae-hyung and Woo Hyun-jin.
Bae In Hyuk said, "Seniors Kim In-kwon and Ku Sung-hwan have great sense and humor. While filming, a good chemistry emerged that allowed me to reveal a slightly liberated, freer side of Tae-hyung." Roh Jeong-Eui named Park Ae-ja as the person to watch most closely and said, "Just looking into senior Kang Ae-sim's eyes during filming conveyed every emotion and felt comforting. There are warm moments captured, so please look forward to it."
Producer Park Sol-bin said, "Kang Ae-sim's warm consolation and Kim In-kwon's skilled dialect and ad-libs are another point of interest," adding, "Please look forward to the rapport between the two, who seem like mother and son yet act like enemies, and to the hidden stories behind them." She continued, "Amy Chu and Jo Moo-saeng are an 'uncertain divorce couple.' Their peculiar relationship will add another layer of fun," and said, "Jin Seo-yeon's overwhelming charisma and Ku Sung-hwan's cheerfulness as the mood maker on set blended well into the characters," raising further expectations for their chemistry.
