Former baseball player Choo Shin-soo showed his unwavering devotion to his wife, Ha Won-mi.
On the 28th, a video titled "[U.S. episode] Men must never watch" was released on the YouTube channel "Ha Won-mi."
In the released video, Choo Shin-soo stood in the kitchen to make seaweed soup himself ahead of his daughter So-hee's birthday.
Choo Shin-soo told the production team, "Tomorrow is So-hee's birthday, and the only thing I know how to make is seaweed soup," smiling sheepishly as he said he would prepare the birthday table himself. He then soaked the seaweed and prepared to cook the soup, entering serious "dad mode."
When Ha Won-mi, who was watching this scene, was asked by the production team, "Have you ever tasted the seaweed soup Choo Shin-soo made for you?", Ha Won-mi said, "Many times. My husband makes it every birthday and also cooks it when I'm not feeling well," and added, "It's very tasty. He spends a lot of time on it. He makes it as if simmering a beef bone soup," conveying Choo Shin-soo's heartfelt dedication.
In particular, it was revealed that Choo Shin-soo had cooked seaweed soup only for his wife's birthdays, not for the children's, which drew attention. When Ha Won-mi asked, "Is this the first time you've made seaweed soup for the kids' birthdays?", Choo Shin-soo awkwardly replied, "Yeah," prompting laughter.
Ha Won-mi also recalled a past episode. She remembered, "He once said he would make seaweed soup and japchae for my birthday. But japchae requires a lot of effort," and Choo Shin-soo confessed, "I was horrified while making japchae. It's not a dish you can make anytime. I spent a lot of time, but the result came out this small," adding to the laughter.
Meanwhile, Choo Shin-soo and Ha Won-mi married in 2002 and have two sons and one daughter, and are currently living in the United States.<
