HYBE-Geffen Records' global girl group KATSEYE is continuing an explosive wave of popularity on the U.S. Billboard main charts that shows no distinction between their previous releases and new songs.
According to the latest chart released by Billboard on the 28th (local time) (Jan. 31 issue), KATSEYE's hit song 'Gabriela' rose to No. 27 on the Hot 100. It is its 27th week on the chart. It is encouraging that the song, released seven months ago, is still holding a high position.
The new song 'Internet Girl', released on the 2nd, also landed at No. 85 on this week's Hot 100, marking its third consecutive week on the chart. Considering that it is not an official promotional single but a fan favorite track, this is a remarkable achievement. The song first entered the Hot 100 at No. 29 (Jan. 17 issue) and drew a strong response by reaching a peak of No. 24 on the U.K. Official Singles Top 100 (Jan. 9-15 issue).
KATSEYE's albums are also steadily beloved. Their second EP, BEAUTIFUL CHAOS, ranked No. 49 on this week's Billboard 200. The album, which had a peak position of No. 4 (July 12 issue), has now achieved 30 consecutive weeks on the chart. In addition, their first EP released in 2024, SIS (Soft Is Strong), re-entered at No. 194, drawing attention.
KATSEYE's strong performance continues across various subcharts. 'Gabriela' placed No. 36 on both the Global 200 and Global (excluding U.S.), marking 31 consecutive weeks on the charts. On the Pop Airplay chart, which tallies radio broadcast points, 'Gabriela' climbed one spot from the previous week to reach No. 10.
KATSEYE was formed through the audition project The Debut: Dream Academy based on the 'K-pop methodology' and is a six-member group that made its debut in the U.S. in June 2024. They are also considered a representative success story of the multi-home, multi-genre strategy led by HYBE chairman Bang Si-hyuk.
They were nominated in two categories — best new artist and best pop duo/group performance — at the 68th Grammy Awards, which will be held on Feb. 1. The ceremony will take place at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, and KATSEYE will also appear on a special stage featuring the eight best new artist nominees, where they are expected to deliver an energetic performance.
