Group TWS returns with music that carries a transparent, refreshing feeling.
On the 28th, HYBE music group label PLEDIS Entertainment Co. said TWS (Shin Yu, Dohun, Youngjae, Hanjin, Jihoon, Kyungmin) will release the digital single "The day we meet again" on Feb. 9.
Their Japanese debut single title track that gained great popularity last summer, "Nice to see you again" (Japanese title はじめまして/はじめまして), has been reborn in a Korean version. The agency explained that it expresses the miracle-like process of accidentally reuniting and becoming "us" with a clear winter-tinged sentiment at the end of the season.
The original "Nice to see you again" topped Billboard Japan's comprehensive song chart, the "Hot 100." The album that included this song achieved two crowns on the Oricon weekly charts, and received the Recording Industry Association of Japan's Gold Disc "Platinum" certification (cumulative shipments of more than 250,000). With this song, TWS successfully established themselves in the Japanese music market and impressively ranked No. 2 on the "2025 Oricon annual rookie ranking."
That enthusiasm continued until recently and became the catalyst for the creation of the Korean version single. TWS performed the song on year-end special broadcasts, major festivals and global music awards, earning strong responses. "The day we meet again" is expected to be a surprise gift-like track for 42 (the fandom name), who have long awaited this song.
TWS is enjoying long-running popularity with mini album 4, "play hard." The title track "OVERDRIVE" has been loved for the "angtal challenge," which involves shaking the shoulders to the chorus, and has remained high on various music charts. Their upward momentum, combining the existing album's hit popularity with the new single release, draws attention. TWS will continue their global expansion by holding "TWS TOUR '24/7:WITH:US' IN KAOHSIUNG" at Kaohsiung Music Center from Jan. 31 to Feb. 1.
