Actor Yoo Ho-jeong expressed her feelings about returning to the small screen after 11 years.
On the 28th, at The Saint in Sindorim-dong, Guro District, Seoul, a production press conference was held for KBS2's new weekend drama Recipe For Love (written by Park Ji-sook, directed by Han Joon-seo, produced by HB Entertainment).
Recipe For Love is a family make-up drama about two families who had been entangled in a bitter fate for 30 years, resolving misunderstandings, comforting each other's wounds, and ultimately being reborn as one family. Director Han Joon-seo, who showed sensitive directing through The Real Has Come! and Love Is Beautiful, Life Is Wonderful, and writer Park Ji-sook, who proved solid writing with The Tale of Lady Ok, Uncle, and My Spring Days, have joined forces, raising expectations.
Han Seong-mi, the daughter-in-law of assemblyman Gong Myeong and a psychiatrist, is played by Yoo Ho-jeong. Han Seong-mi is cheerful and bold but cold and realistic, and she is the era's top family solution expert, overflowing with narcissism, self-esteem, and social influence. He is revered as an icon of the perfect family and a missionary of love, but when her husband runs for the merchant association president election, she faces a crisis. Attention is focused on Yoo Ho-jeong's acting as she depicts the two-faced Han Seong-mi character with her unique personality.
Yoo Ho-jeong laughed, saying, "Lee Jae-ryong said it would be fine if we filmed it comfortably, so I don't mind Kim Seung-soo calling me by a pet name," then said, "After After the Rain, I personally spent time with my children and wanted to fully do the mother role, so I stepped away from the entertainment industry for a while. And when I came back and tried to work on a project, I lost confidence and felt I couldn't do it, but I liked this project. There were many parts I could empathize with, and I thought I could convey warmth, so I chose it."
Kim Seung-soo and Yoo Ho-jeong are collaborating for the third time with Recipe For Love, following Kkakdugi and Do You Love Me Enough to Give Me Away? Especially, after Do You Love Me Enough to Give Me Away?, they once again play a married couple, and Yoo Ho-jeong said, "Kim Seung-soo is my third husband. It has been 35 years since I debuted, and Kim Seung-soo is the only one I've played a spouse with three times. At first, when Kim Seung-soo was said to be the husband, I thought I could feel at ease. I felt comfortable using the term 'honey' from the start. I'm prepared to work together knowing Kim Seung-soo's fans might scold me," and Kim Seung-soo said, "This is the first time I have formed a marital connection with someone three times, and that person is Yoo Ho-jeong. I usually call her 'honey,' and jokingly to Lee Jae-ryong, who plays my husband, I've even said, 'If you live long, wouldn't it be not bad to live with me too?' I was very happy that Yoo Ho-jeong was cast as the wife. I didn't have to worry much about the couple scenes."
KBS2's new weekend drama Recipe For Love will premiere at 8 p.m. on the 31st.
