tvN 'You Quiz on the Block' will present a 'difficult questions and clever moves' special.
Tonight (Jan. 28, Wed.) at 8:45 p.m., the 329th episode of You Quiz on the Block (directed by Heo Kang-seok, writer Lee Un-ju) will feature jjajang connoisseur Jo Young-gwon, jjambbong enthusiast Park Ki-seok, the self-acknowledged Korean language guru Yoon Hye-jung, the cutting prophetic fortune teller Park Seong-jun, and longtime friends of 20 years and former mixed martial artists Choo Sung Hoon and Kim Dong-hyun appearing.
'Jjajang or jjambbong' — facing humanity's greatest dilemma, Chinese food fanatics appear on You Quiz. The protagonists are Jo Young-gwon, a 32-year veteran piano tuner and food blogger who searches for the country's best jjajangmyeon restaurants, and Park Ki-seok, a jjambbong review YouTuber who loves jjambbong. Well known even among Chinese food enthusiasts, the two reveal how they fell for jjajang and jjambbong, regional differences in jjajang and jjambbong, their own eating tips and life-changing favorite restaurants, capturing attention.
Jo Young-gwon will reveal the behind-the-scenes story of how, due to the nature of his work with frequent field trips, he has visited at least 3,000 jjajangmyeon shops over 30 years, and will disclose a secret notebook that comprehensively lists the country's Chinese food spots. Park Ki-seok, who says he traveled at least 800,000 km looking for jjambbong restaurants, tells the story of how he became enthralled with jjambbong, quit his job and became a full-time YouTuber. Famous for his exceptional love of noodles, Yu Jae-seok will also light up his eyes and join a food talk united by noodles, raising expectations.
The story of Yoon Hye-jung, the Korean language guru who has been a wing for 2.5 million test takers, also draws interest. Yoon Hye-jung, a 22-year incumbent teacher who has been the top EBS college entrance exam Korean instructor for 19 consecutive years and has amassed 100 million cumulative views, is also well known for her appearance resembling Girls' Generation's Yuri. Yoon Hye-jung will reveal the intense daily life of living as both a top instructor and a teacher, and the real reason she turned down a scouting offer worth 100 times her salary in the private education sector. She will generously share why the number of 'language quitters' is increasing, methods to build literacy, practical strategies to improve Korean skills ahead of the 2027 college entrance exam, and time allocation tips. In addition, Yu Jae-seok adds empathy by sharing behind-the-scenes stories of experiencing the college entrance exam Korean test when he appeared on Infinite Challenge. Viewers will also get Yoon Hye-jung's view of the current state of Korea's education and the things she most wants to say.
The cutting prophetic fortune teller Park Seong-jun appears on You Quiz. Park Seong-jun is the person who has read Yu Jae-seok's fortune every early year and is a fortune teller who even assessed the compatibility of Yu Jae-seok and Na Kyung-eun as a couple. At his appearance, with a gentle physiognomy and frank remarks, Yu Jae-seok says, "I never expected to meet this person on You Quiz," expressing his anticipation.
Park Seong-jun unfolds stories ranging from his surprising background as an alumnus of Hongik University's department of architecture, to tales from his engineering student days when he was interested in Taoism(?), and the story of having hand-copied 300 notebooks of a master physiognomist's know-how. The 30-year veteran fortune teller Park Seong-jun's introduction to physiognomy adds further interest. In particular, while discussing the physiognomy of successful people and analyzing Yu Jae-seok's face, he says "luck beat the face" and "it seems new every time I look," prompting bursts of laughter. Also, alongside stories that stirred the You Quiz studio, viewers will see all of Park Seong-jun's signs of great fortune and methods of coping when luck doesn't go your way in the main broadcast.
You can also hear the story of Choo Sung Hoon and Kim Dong-hyun, who went beyond legendary fighters to become men who make Korea laugh. The two, who reaffirmed their presence in the 'Physical' series, created a new heyday by producing catchphrases like "don't underestimate the man" and positive-speech memes such as "you're going to be very stressed." The two, 20-year friends and teacher and student in martial arts, will deliver nonstop revelations and genuine brotherly chemistry for laughs. In particular, following Choo Sung Hoon, who became the first in You Quiz history to destroy a desk rather than a chair, Kim Dong-hyun, known as "Yu Jae-seok's laugh button," also reportedly shook the set with his quirky charm.
Kim Dong-hyun adds laughter with revelations about Choo Sung Hoon, who surpassed 2 million subscribers on YouTube within a year of starting. He said he was shocked to see Choo Sung Hoon, who usually follows a meat-based diet known as the "lion's eating habit," eating cream bread on YouTube. In response, Choo Sung Hoon also exposes the differences between the real-life Kim Dong-hyun and YouTuber Kim Dong-hyun as the talk battle continues. The episode will also reveal nostalgic episodes from when the two first met at a gym in Japan 20 years ago, and Choo Sung Hoon's philosophy that changed the image of Korean martial arts. Kim Dong-hyun shares stories from his unknown days when he dreamed of being a fighter, and behind-the-scenes of feeling national popularity after appearing on Mongolian news following his Physical: Asia victory. In particular, when Kim Dong-hyun's martial arts notes from his school days were revealed, Yu Jae-seok reportedly cried uncontrollably from laughter, sparking curiosity. The main broadcast will include the sincere stories of the two partners who feel reassured just by each other's presence.
