"The Ballad of Us" TOP12 said a regretful farewell.
SBS' The Ballad of Us spin-off program 'Mumu X Chacha - Ubala Radio' ended its run after the broadcast on the 27th.
In the final episode of 'Mumu X Chacha - Ubala Radio' aired that day, Lee Ji-hoon's new song 'I have to sing' was premiered as the opening stage. Lee Ji-hoon completed the song with steady breath control and delicate emotional expression, calmly opening the program's last night.
The new song 'I have to sing' naturally continued the emotional line that followed the final stage of The Ballad of Us, filling the moment of the ending with resonance. Following Lee Ji-hoon, news also came that winner Lee Ye-ji was preparing a new song, adding to expectations about their post-program moves.
In the final broadcast, duet and solo stages continued, and layers of diverse emotions accumulated one by one. Song Ji-woo and Lim Ji-seong chose J and Haul's 'Is it love' and delivered the song's narrative with a fresh fluttering emotion expressed in a simple yet warm harmony.
Then Hong Seung-min and Kim Yoon selected Vibe's 'That Man, That Woman (feat. Jang Hye Jin)' and presented a mature emotional duet. The differing tonal colors naturally meshed, delicately expressing the moments where male and female emotions intersect and increasing the stage's immersion. Also, Lee Ye-ji and Lee Moo-jin showed explosive emotional lines and stable vocal ability through Kim Bum Soo's 'Last Love,' raising the stage tension to its peak.
Distinct personalities also stood out on solo stages. Cheon Beom-seok performed Byun Jin-seop's 'To the lady' with a vintage sensibility and relaxed vocals, preserving the song's classic atmosphere, and Hong Seung-min delivered DAY6's 'You were beautiful' with restrained emotion and sincere vocals, leaving a gentle aftertaste.
At the end of the flow of stages was the ending stage of the TOP6 (Lee Ye-ji, Lee Ji-hoon, Cheon Beom-seok, Choi Eun-bin, Hong Seung-min, Song Ji-woo). The stage that arranged Im Jae-bum's 'When this night passes' as a six-person chorus concluded 'Mumu X Chacha - Ubala Radio' with a deep resonance as each individuality blended into one harmony.
The final episode, which opened with a new song and ended with a chorus, clearly showed that 'Mumu X Chacha - Ubala Radio' was more than a simple spin-off, but a project that shared emotions through music. The time spent sharing viewers' stories and answering with songs remained as a playlist, gifting warm memories in the cold winter.
"The Ballad of Us" TOP12 will continue meeting fans across the country with a national tour, holding performances in Seoul on Feb. 7 and 8, Busan on the 28th, and Daejeon on March 7.
