Group IVE member and singer Jang Won-young's side spoke up about rumors of entering business.
On the 28th, agency Starship Entertainment issued an official statement saying, "We are conveying our position regarding the facts and protecting the artist in relation to 'Forever Cherry (FOREVER CHERRY)' which has been mentioned recently in connection with Jang Won-young."
That day Starship said, "'Forever Cherry' is a brand collaboration project and not Jang Won-young's personal business," expressing its position on the business entry rumors.
It went on to say, "Regarding the trademark registration recently processed, the name deeply reflects the artist's unique identity and image," and explained, "Therefore, to prevent indiscriminate commercial appropriation and brand abuse by third parties that could occur after the project ends, we agreed with the brand to proceed with the application in Jang Won-young's own name."
Starship added, "The reason the application covers a wide range is also part of a preemptive response to defend against misuse of the artist's image in various business sectors. This is a measure to fully preserve the unique value by prioritizing the artist's rights," and added, "We will continue to do our best to protect the rights of our signed artists."
