The cause of death of U.S. YouTuber Adam the Woo has been released. He was 51.
On the 27th, local time, the Daily Mail and other foreign media reported that Adam the Woo's father, Jim, recently conveyed his son's autopsy results via social media. Jim said, "My son suffered from arteriosclerosis and hypertensive cardiovascular disease, and as a result he died of a heart attack in his sleep," and added, "In short, natural causes."
He added, "He passed away peacefully in his sleep because of a health problem he may not have even known about," and asked, "Please remember Adam, a beloved son and a friend to many."
Adam the Woo was found dead last December at his home near Orlando, Florida. At the time, the sheriff's office said it conducted a welfare check at the request of an acquaintance and later found Adam collapsed on his bed inside the dwelling. There were no signs of forced entry or indications of a crime.
Born Adam Williams, he began his YouTube activities in 2009 and gained great popularity with vlogs exploring closed theme parks, film and drama filming locations, and bizarre roadside attractions.
He had about 400,000 subscribers on his first channel and about 760,000 on his second channel, TheDailyWoo, and his Instagram followers exceeded 80,000.
Especially known for his Disney World and Disneyland content, he introduced himself as an "80s pop culture nerd" and said, "I just document adventures; I don't take myself too seriously," which resonated with fans. His story of once living in a van and continuing to travel is also cited as a hallmark of his career.
After the news of his death, tributes from fans and fellow creators poured in. YouTuber Justin Scarred mourned, "We lost Adam. He was truly one of a kind," and added, "The world did not fully know the warm, generous heart that was behind the screen."
Fans also left memorial messages saying, "He will be long remembered by fans in central Florida and around the world," and "His videos were part of our lives."
