In the released photos, Jeon Somi was shown enjoying traveling in Japan. However, in some photos Jeon Somi attracted attention by suddenly lifting her leg and taking a selfie while riding in a taxi in Japan. She was also seen lifting one leg and taking photos in a rest area of a shopping center, not in a taxi.
This behavior drew criticism from some netizens. They argued that putting one's foot up while wearing shoes inside a taxi used by multiple people violates public morals. However, some argued that there was no problem because Jeon Somi's foot did not touch the seat.
As the controversy continued, the behavior Jeon Somi and Chaeyoung showed at an unmanned photo studio in 2024 also drew renewed attention. At the time, Chaeyoung posted photos taken in an unmanned photo booth with her close friend Jeon Somi for April Fools' Day.
The photos showed the two people posing side by side in an unmanned photo booth wearing wigs. Among them, there was a photo that surprised viewers in which both of them lifted their shirts to expose their underwear.
Upon seeing the post, Somi laughed and commented "ㅋㅋㅋ아놔", but Chaeyoung deleted the post about 20 minutes after uploading it. The photos then spread through SNS and online communities, and netizens engaged in heated debate over public morals.
In just about two years, with Jeon Somi again embroiled in a public morals controversy, the past underwear exposure incident has come back under the spotlight.
