The production team of I Live Alone, hit by the consecutive departures of comedian Park Na-rae and SHINee member Key, is working to discover new faces, following actress Bae Na-ra.
On the 27th, a representative for the MBC variety program I Live Alone (abbreviated as "I Live Alone") told OSEN, "Crying Nut's Han Kyung-rok will appear on I Live Alone," issuing an official statement. However, they explained that it is a one-off appearance for now and that he has not joined as a fixed member.
Born in 1977, Han Kyung-rok is a 49-year-old single man this year. He is also the only single member among Crying Nut. As such, there is growing interest in the realistic single life he will show.
Before Han Kyung-rok, I Live Alone also showed Bae Na-ra's daily life. Bae Na-ra, who debuted in the musical Promise in 2013, gained recognition by appearing in the Netflix original D.P. season 2 and Weak Hero Class 2.
A veteran of 16 years living alone, she opened up "Nara House," where she has lived for six years, and received praise for revealing a meticulous lifestyle with her pet cat Gureum. From sheet masks, an essential part of her morning routine, to items for reducing facial puffiness and the daily diet she eats for dieting and exercise, viewers expressed admiration.
The appearance of new faces such as Bae Na-ra and Han Kyung-rok, who could not be seen in the existing I Live Alone, draws attention by itself. Moreover, I Live Alone has recently felt a particularly noticeable void as core members Park Na-rae and SHINee's Key consecutively left amid controversy related to the "aunt who gives injections" and other issues. Allegations that Park Na-rae's "aunt who gives injections" even accompanied her to the Taiwan filming of I Live Alone and quarreled with the production team have made the contributions of new members to fill that vacancy even more urgent.
In response, the production team's efforts to find new members continue. After Bae Na-ra, Han Kyung-rok, though a one-off guest, is building his own presence. In particular, actor Ku Sung-hwan, who is currently active as a Rainbow member, also appeared as a close friend of existing member actor Lee Ju-seung and then secured a place on I Live Alone. Ku Sung-hwan has already shown steady presence to the extent of appearing together at year-end award ceremonies. When will a new face with that level of presence appear? Attention is focused on whether Han Kyung-rok and others, who attracted attention from the casting stage, can fill the vacant spot on I Live Alone.
