Actor Evangeline Lilly, who gained worldwide fame for the drama "Lost," has revealed the painful recovery process after traumatic brain injury (TBI). She confessed, "I spent a lot of money to correct deficiencies in my brain," describing a realistic healing journey that demanded both expense and time.
Lilly over the weekend released a video on her social media titled "Restore your brain health: Part 1!" In the video she said, "It cost a considerable amount to receive tailored professional advice to assess and recover my brain damage," and added, "It pains me that this is not something everyone can afford."
Earlier, Lilly said she was taken to hospital after an accident last May at the beach in which her face struck a rock, and that subsequent detailed tests diagnosed a concussion and traumatic brain injury. Earlier this year she revealed, "The scan results were out of range in all areas, and currently my brain function is reduced," and confessed, "I confirmed that it is actual brain damage, not simple menopausal symptoms," shocking many.
In the video, Lilly also revealed the supplements she is taking: NAC, creatine, resveratrol, omega-3, coenzyme Q10 and others. She drew a line, saying, "This is based on a specialist's advice and is not a recommendation of specific brands." She also warned against indiscriminate imitation, saying, "I am not a doctor, and this method does not suit everyone."
She added, "I share this hoping it will be of reference to others facing the same difficulties in a reality where reasonable medical access is not easy in the United States." At the same time she emphasized, "Supplements are not for lifelong use but are taken only for the period deemed necessary."
Lilly said the pace of her life has changed since the accident. "After badly injuring my face, the decline in cognitive function actually forced me to stop, and the end of 2025 was the closest thing to rest I have had in my life," she said, adding, "I am deeply grateful to be able to live another day."
Meanwhile, Lilly has effectively declared her retirement from acting following the Marvel film "Ant-Man and the Wasp" series. She said, "I decided to leave behind wealth and fame and follow my 'dharma,'" and is currently focusing on healing and life balance.
