The group TWICE unit MISAMO released a Highlight medley video for their first full-length Japanese album, drawing attention with a variety of visual elements.
The TWICE unit MISAMO will release their first Japanese full-length album PLAY on Feb. 4. Following the pre-release of the title track Confetti and its music video on the 16th, at 12 a.m. on the 26th they unveiled an album Highlight medley video on their official social media channels.
The video begins an audition to determine the true owner of the throne with the surprise appearance of actor Sato Takeru. Mina performs the solo Turning Tables, portraying a decisive figure who chooses what she wants without hesitation; Sana performs Ma Cherry, depicting someone who is admired by everyone at least once, with softness and inner strength; Momo performs Kitty, showing how she shines with her own light amid chaos. After the performances, just before the results are announced, Mina, Sana and Momo confront the judges who try to punish them, ultimately win and finish wearing crowns. In addition to the three solo songs among the 12 tracks on the album, Deep Eden, Hmm and Not a Goodbye are inserted like background music, giving the feel of watching a splendid play.
This Highlight medley video adds viewing interest with the special appearance of famous actor Sato Takeru as the audition host. Because the full-length album is themed around theater, the members felt it would be even better with an actor, and Sato Takeru, who is gaining popularity in Korea and Japan, accepted the proposal, making the collaboration possible.
The full-length album PLAY is MISAMO's first local full-length album and serves as the ending of a trilogy following their debut album Masterpiece in July 2023 and mini album 2 HAUTE COUTURE in Nov. 2024. Filling out the previous two works with a classic and elegant mood and expressing a "masterpiece," "supreme" musical aura as the album title suggests, the Japanese full-length album PLAY, which shows MISAMO's own narrative with a total of 12 tracks including the title track Confetti, will be officially released on the 4th of next month.
