Actor Park Jin Hee and Nam Sang Ji exude an irresistible, intense womance chemistry.
The new KBS 2TV daily drama Red Pearl, directed by Kim Seong Geun and written by Kim Seo Jeong, scheduled to premiere at 7:50 p.m. on Feb. 23, is a meticulous and powerful chronicle of revenge in which two women who return under false identities uncover sins and truths hidden within the Adele family.
A still released today (the 26th) captures the ironic relationship between Park Jin Hee and Nam Sang Ji, who oscillate between suspicion and cooperation, and draws attention. Unwittingly caught up in the same incident, the two struggle to uncover the sins and truths committed by the Adele Group while hiding their identities. Viewers are left wondering what kind of confrontations and alliances they will show.
In the drama, Park Jin Hee plays Kim Dan Hee, who, after learning the hidden tragic circumstances of her twin sister, abandons her own life and lives under her sister's name while dreaming of revenge. Nam Sang Ji plays Baek Jin Joo, who, after losing her family, returns under the new identity of Chloe Lee and vows revenge, becoming the center of the story.
In particular, Park Jin Hee overwhelms scenes with a gaze that seems to pierce through her opponent, adding weight to the drama, while Nam Sang Ji raises immersion with delicate yet sharp facial expressions. Although they move toward the same goal, the relationship between the two characters, who alternate between enemy and ally without knowing each other's true identities, is Red Pearl's biggest point of interest.
The taut womance building between Park Jin Hee and Nam Sang Ji, formed out of mutual need, is expected to inject strong tension into the plot. At the same time, the journey of the two women as they reclaim their lost true selves will offer deep empathy to viewers.
