Group SEVENTEEN members S.Coups and Mingyu opened their live party successfully, sharing "HYPE VIBES" with some 26,000 spectators.
S.Coups and Mingyu held "CxM [DOUBLE UP] LIVE PARTY in INCHEON" at Inspire Arena in Incheon from Jan. 23 to 25. The show sold out on the day FC pre-sale opened, and online live streaming drew viewers from 86 countries/regions worldwide, including Japan, the United States, Australia and China. The two filled the stage for about 150 minutes with nearly 25 songs without a break, coloring the venue with their characteristic free-spirited energy.
The atmosphere heated up from the start. Opening with "Fiesta," S.Coups and Mingyu performed all the tracks from the mini album "HYPE VIBES" live with a band, including "5, 4, 3 (Pretty woman)", "Worth it", "Earth" and "For you." They also selected SEVENTEEN hip-hop team tracks such as "Water", "LALALI" and "Monster", and solo tracks included on the fifth full-length album like "Jungle (S.COUPS Solo)" and "Shake It Off (MINGYU Solo)", delivering intense and explosive energy.
New songs premiered at the show raised the atmosphere to a peak. Leading with "FEEL," which S.Coups and Mingyu performed together, unreleased new tracks "Sunrise (MINGYU Solo)" and "TOO YOUNG TO DIE (S.COUPS Solo)" unfolded, and the audience responded with rapturous cheers. Mingyu brought back "Like the Beginning (MINGYU Solo)," which he performed at a SEVENTEEN concert eight years ago, showcasing a soft tone, and S.Coups moved the audience with the sincere confession of his self-composed song "Me (S.COUPS Solo)."
The staging that expanded the world of "HYPE VIBES" was also a spectacle. The opening was extraordinary. The concept that the characters "Kute" and "Mante," aliens from another planet, came to Earth to recharge with music was realized with huge sculptures of the two characters. The runway-like stage arrangement added freshness. A stage crossing the middle of the venue and surrounding seating brought artists and fans closer, maximizing immersion. Added to this were the support of SEVENTEEN members who attended the show and fans' group chants, making every moment of the performance "Hype."
S.Coups and Mingyu said, "We made 'HYPE VIBES' dreaming of performing these songs. The stage we only imagined was completed by the audience." They also said, "It seems we have gone through many experiences for today. The various emotions we felt over the three days became new lessons for us," and added, "Please continue to enjoy watching the growth of S.Coups and Mingyu and SEVENTEEN."
"CxM [DOUBLE UP] LIVE PARTY" continues in major cities at home and abroad. S.Coups and Mingyu will hold live parties for local fans at Aichi IG Arena on Jan. 31 and Feb. 1; Chiba Makuhari Messe on Feb. 5-6; Busan Exhibition & Convention Center (BEXCO) on Feb. 13-14; and Kaohsiung Arena on April 25-26.
