Platform album corporations Nemozlab (CEO Jeon Su-jin) said MuseLive's lawsuit seeking an injunction for patent infringement and unfair competition was dismissed in full at the first instance.
The Seoul Central District Court, 63rd Civil Division, ruled on Jan. 22, 2026, that MuseLive's claims against Nemozlab alleging patent infringement and unfair competition were without merit. With this ruling, Nemozlab prevailed in the civil lawsuit following its patent victory at the Supreme Court.
Nemozlab said on the 26th, "In the judgment published on the day of the verdict, the court specified that Nemozlab's service method is based on user account and URL information and is technically different from the plaintiff's patent, which uses device-unique codes."
Son Kwang-nam of the law firm Hyun said, "The court dismissed not only MuseLive's patent infringement claims but also its unfair competition claims, clearly confirming legally that Nemozlab's service is a model distinct from the plaintiff's."
Nemozlab, founded in 2021 as an entertainment technology corporation, developed the smart album "Nemo Album" using NFC and QR code technologies to provide K-pop fandoms with a new music consumption experience. It has partnerships with major entertainment agencies such as SM, YG, JYP, CJ ENM, FNC, and Starship Entertainment, provides services to 240 countries worldwide, and collaborates with more than 100 artist teams.
Jeon Su-jin, CEO of Nemozlab, said, "This ruling confirms that Nemozlab has been fostering healthy growth of the platform album market through its technology and content," and added, "Going forward, instead of unnecessary legal battles, we will focus our capabilities on advancing technology and providing differentiated services to become a platform that offers better experiences to global K-pop fans."
