Former announcer and broadcaster Park Eun-young revealed the scene of safely giving birth to her second child at 45, stirring emotion.
On the 26th episode of the TV CHOSUN variety show "Joseon's lover," Park Eun-young revealed her second childbirth story.
Park Eun-young met with her close friends Jasson and the couple Jeong Ju-ri to talk about the pregnancy process. Park Eun-young said, "The second is a daughter. Yesterday my husband also said it was a relief that the second is a daughter," expressing the joy of being pregnant with a second daughter.
She said, "Our first child Beom-jun was unusual even in the womb. He was never not breech. He didn't turn back until 38 weeks. In the end we went to the professor who does external cephalic version, turned the position and had a vaginal delivery," and added, "But the second was breech too. I wondered if the shape of my uterus made breech inevitable. I also wondered if I should go to the professor to turn it again."
She continued, "One evening while feeding and preparing for bed, it didn't feel like tightening but rather a dull ache. I felt something turning, so I told my husband maybe the second is turning on its own. He said you normally can't feel that. When they examined me they said the head had turned. It was such a relief," adding, "Even now childbirth is something you risk your life for. Medical technology has improved to this extent."
Fortunately the orientation turned from breech, but things were not smooth until labor began. Park Eun-young said, "It seems like my water is leaking," and called the medical staff, and the doctor said, "I thought this might happen. The baby is looking up. It should be looking down," suggesting the possibility of an emergency cesarean.
However, in an instant the baby turned its head and preparation for delivery began. Park Eun-young pushed with all her strength, holding her breath and never crying out, veins even standing out on her head. At last, the child's loud cry spread, and even the cast of "Joseon's lover" shed tears of emotion, making the moment even more moving.
