MBC 'Omniscient Interfering View' Yang Se-hyung gifted early spring excitement to living rooms with the self-improvement "god life" of a 10 billion won building owner and a straightforward romance toward his ideal type, announcer Park So-young. In particular, the practical dating coaching handed down by 'popular man' Jun Hyun-moo and 'marriage senior' Hong Hyun-hee, as well as Yoo Byungjae's exclamation, "It feels less like a variety show and more like a dating show," produced scenes that drove the program to a peak minute rating of 4.5%, maximising viewer engagement. On the 382nd episode of MBC's variety show 'Omniscient Interfering View' aired on the 24th (planned by Kang Young-seon; directed by Kim Yoon-jip, Jeon Jae-wook, Kim Hae-ni, Jeong Dong-sik, Lee Da-woon; writer Yeo Hyun-jeon), Yang Se-hy's morning began in a "reading mode" in which he never let go of a book. The room that had been empty during his last appearance had been remodelled into a study filled with books, and the memo board he still uses was densely covered with various sayings, including a last wish from his father in a dream: "Live a meaningful life." However, in the gaps of this knowledge-filled space, spelling mistakes were found and he was seen looking up the meanings of simple words on his phone, catching the attention of the show's commentators; even amid his intellectual charm, Yang Se-hyung did not miss the laugh-worthy moments befitting a "bone man."
After reading came special study. Having lost a family member somewhat early, Yang Se-hyung said he had long reflected deeply on death. Based on that interest, he devoted himself to online lectures aiming to obtain a "well-dying instructor" qualification that guides a dignified death. His intent was not simply to learn about death but to find a deep meaning that it can help one enjoy present life. On his memo board found in many places were, as always this year, New Year's goals amounting to as many as 11 items, including obtaining the well-dying instructor and a Korean history certificate, reaffirming his "god life" determination not to waste a single moment.
Then a heart-fluttering meeting between Yang Se-hyung and announcer Park So-young, whom he had named his ideal type, unfolded in earnest. Appearing on the lottery broadcast 'Golden Hand' and meeting host Park So-young, Yang Se-hyung, a devoted fan who regularly watched the announcer bureau's content channel 'News Anha-ni', shyly exclaimed repeatedly, "(In person) is exactly the same as in the video." During the live broadcast that followed, he became so nervous because Park So-young was beside him that he made an adorable pronunciation mistake, but he safely finished the show after leaving the memorable line he had prepared: "If I share roses, their fragrance remains on my hands." In the waiting room after the broadcast, the contrast between Yang Se-hyung, who was sincere about his sayings, and Yoo Byungjae, who burst into laughter, brought big laughs.
The day's highlight was the dinner arranged for Yang Se-hyung and Park So-young, led by announcer bureau head Jeon Jong-hwan with support from Yoo Byungjae. There, Yang Se-hyung opened his "Park So-young encyclopedia," revealing that he knew everything from Park So-young's personal channel 'Moonlight So-young angel' to the frustrations she experienced when aspiring to be a racing association announcer. Also, having carefully served salad, Yang Se-hyung showered her with compliments, saying, "You are a person of deep charm" and "a happy virus." Park So-young replied, "You are such a wonderful person," and excitement exploded in the studio.
Their special behind-the-scenes moments were also revealed. Although Yang Se-hyung did not remember at all, Park So-young vividly recalled first meeting him at a company dinner when she was a new employee. At the time, she was deeply moved by Yang Se-hyung's remark, "So I won't forget the value of earning money through hard work; these days I go to Uijeongbu where my mother does wallpapering work and help her," and wrote it in her diary. She added that she plans to challenge the Korean history certificate exam, likes quotations, running and tennis, and is interested in the cooking volunteer work Yang Se-hyung has consistently done, confirming many overlaps. The two naturally exchanged contact information and left a subtle pink afterglow that turned living rooms upside down.
As the studio went wild with an atmosphere like watching a dating program, excitement for the romance rose further when it was revealed that Yang Se-hyung contacted Park So-young first after filming. Yang Se-hyung said he wrapped up their warm conversation by resolving questions about their first meeting. Jun Hyun-moo advised, "Keep in regular contact so it doesn't stop," and Hong Hyun-hee coached actively, "Call her and say you saw today's broadcast VCR and it turned out so fun." Encouraged by these cheers, viewers' curiosity peaked over whether Yang Se-hyung would be able to properly turn on the "green light" with Park So-young.
Next week's broadcast will reveal the new home of former baseball player Hwang Jae-gyun, who is enjoying a post-retirement life satisfaction of 100%. From the nostalgic baseball feel his body still remembers to candid stories shared near retirement with Yang Eui-ji, Ryu Hyun-jin and Kim Hyun-soo, Hwang Jae-gyun's second act of life will be released. Also featured will be You Yong-wook, who drew attention as the ace of the black team on 'Culinary Class Wars 2', in a day filled with smoky aromas. Viewers can look forward to his secret home recipes, the opening of a second restaurant, and barbecue dishes that captivated Gary, Gray, Woo Won-jae and Cookie, raising anticipation for his delicious daily life.
