American reality star Nicole Polizzi (Snooki) recently received shocking news during a hospital visit.
On the 22nd (local time), Nicole Polizzi personally shared the test results she received during a recent hospital visit. She said abnormal findings on cervical cell tests have been recurring for about four years, and she recently underwent a colposcopy (magnification examination) and a biopsy, tests known to be uncomfortable.
Polizzi said, "The test results are out, and the attending doctor said, 'the situation doesn't look good,'" and that "cancerous cells were found in the upper part of the cervix." She added that she needs to undergo a cone resection under general anesthesia for further detailed examination.
She said, "I'm so scared. But cervical cancer is never something to take lightly, so you must get tested." Polizzi, who showed tears, said that if the second biopsy also shows abnormalities she may have to consider a hysterectomy.
Polizzi said, "I already have no plans to have more children, but the idea of having my uterus removed as a woman is so sad and frightening," and added, "The hardest part is that I will no longer be able to have children." She has three children with her husband, Jionni Lavalle.
Polizzi also said she hopes this video will serve as an opportunity for her experience to connect with women in similar situations. She said, "I'm scared and panicked, but I wanted to feel that I'm not alone."
In particular, she confessed she regrets postponing regular checkups in the past because of fear. "I postponed checkups because I was afraid the results would be bad and didn't want to suffer pain and stress," she said, adding, "That's why the doctor is managing me more strictly now." She continued, "I want to say this through this video: don't postpone cervical cancer screening, and if your doctor tells you to get it again, be sure to do it."
Finally, Polizzi said, "I am drawing great strength from my family and friends. Being a woman is not easy, and this is truly terrifying. But I believe it will be all right," adding, "We women can get through this together."
