Singer and actor Cha Eun-woo has been embroiled in allegations of tax evasion involving about 20 billion won, and views have emerged that his agency Fantagio may have led the practical design.

On that day, lawyer Lee Ji-hoon analyzed the current tax evasion allegation case and said it would be difficult for the act to be realized without the agency's help. He pointedly said, "We need to examine what the corporation founded by his mother did to support Cha Eun-woo's activities in the entertainment industry."
Lawyer Lee Ji-hoon pointed out, "The corporate company's address is listed as an eel restaurant located in Ganghwado, so we need to examine whether it has the capacity to support Cha Eun-woo. Even someone without a stake would find it hard to accept if the address is an eel restaurant."
In particular, lawyer Lee Ji-hoon said, "They must prove whether there were actual entertainment support activities such as schedule management or contract work. It is also suspicious that, as tax evasion allegations surfaced, the address was moved to Gangnam and it was changed to a limited company."
Meanwhile, the lawyer speculated that Fantagio may have been involved. He said, "This is a guess, but I think Fantagio designed the tax-saving structure. Fantagio gave part of the money that should have gone to Cha Eun-woo to the corporation. Cha Eun-woo would know, and the corporation would know, but it is something that could not be done without Fantagio's help."
He went on, "This is something that could not happen unless Fantagio was completely deceived or helped. Since Fantagio is the party that does settlement, it makes no sense to give money to a corporation that did not perform work. I think Fantagio played a role."
Meanwhile, regarding Cha Eun-woo's tax evasion allegations, Fantagio said in an official statement, "The main issue in this matter is whether the corporation established by Cha Eun-woo's mother is subject to substantive taxation. This matter has not been finally confirmed or notified, and we intend to actively clarify the issues related to legal interpretation and application through proper procedures."
Fantagio added, "The artist and the tax representative will faithfully cooperate so that the procedure can be completed promptly. Cha Eun-woo promises to continue to faithfully carry out tax filing and legal obligations as a member of the public."
