'Love Catcher' cast member Kim Jiyeon snapped at comments related to the son of baseball player Jung Cheol-won, who is in the midst of a divorce lawsuit.
On the afternoon of the 25th, Kim Jiyeon quoted a passage on her personal SNS from Jung Cheol-won's phone call with a media outlet. In the call, Jung Cheol-won avoided the reporter's contact and said he would remain silent about the divorce lawsuit, saying he would spare words for his son.
However, in response, Kim Jiyeon presented a completely opposite story. "He told my mother that he would take custody because he disliked me being with In-geol," she said. She even exploded in anger, saying, "He announced by KakaoTalk that he was filing a custody suit while not even properly talking with me in messages and only talking about himself, so what is this about doing it for his son now?"
Jung Cheol-won joined the Lotte Giants' spring camp, which starts today (25th). The team is also holding back comments about the player's personal life.
Kim Jiyeon added emphatically once more, "Even though some of the details are known to be true, you say you'll carry on as is? Protecting him without giving a chance to reflect is not what is best for the player."
Kim Jiyeon, a Hanyang University dance major, gained fame appearing on the Mnet variety show "Love Catcher." She later gave birth to a son with Lotte Giants pitcher Jung Cheol-won in 2024, and the two held their wedding ceremony on Dec. 14 last year, one year and four months after the birth.
However, starting on the night of the 24th, Kim Jiyeon hinted at divorce while conducting a Q&A with fans on her personal SNS. In particular, she shocked people by alleging that Jung Cheol-won did not properly provide living expenses, did not participate in household chores despite both spouses working, and even raised suspicions of an affair.
