Supermodel Irina Shayk is once again at the center of attention and controversy with a provocative bondage (bondage, physical restraint) concept photo spread.
Shayk recently appeared on the cover of the latest issue of V Magazine in a photo spread notable for leather outfits and striking direction. The shoot was led by world-renowned visual artist Steven Klein.
In the photos released on her official Instagram, Shayk struck provocative poses using props such as a leather mask, leather outfits and a motorcycle. In some shots she drew attention by appearing wearing only a long leather cape.
However, according to a Daily Mail report on the 23rd (local time), reactions from fans were sharply divided after the photos were released. Praises such as "perfect" and "hard to believe she's 40" continued, while criticism such as "why did she agree to this shoot?", "it's uncomfortable" and "it's excessive" was not uncommon.
Regarding this, Shayk told the magazine in an interview, "This photo spread is a 'character' created with Steven Klein," explaining that it was "a figure expressing a wild femininity." She added that "she is bold and fearless, living her 'era of YES.'"
Shayk's provocative moves are not new. Ten years ago she also risked full nudity in a GQ Italy photo spread. Throughout her career she has consistently drawn attention with concepts that cross boundaries.
Meanwhile, Shayk has a daughter, Lea de Seine, with actor Bradley Cooper. In a recent interview she said, "I minimize my daughter's digital exposure," and noted, "It is important that she grows up in love and community."
