Sunghoon, a member of the group ENHYPEN, will serve as a torchbearer for the Winter Olympics.
Agency Belift Lab Inc. said on the 24th that Sunghoon will take part as a torchbearer for the 2026 Milano-Cortina d'Ampezzo Winter Olympics, which open on Feb. 6 (local time). The exact location and schedule of the relay were not disclosed.
Before his debut, Sunghoon served on the reserve roster of the national figure skating team, and since last year he has been an ambassador for the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee (KSOC).
He was recommended by Samsung Electronics, an official sponsor of the Milano-Cortina d'Ampezzo Winter Olympics, to serve as a torchbearer.
Through his agency, Sunghoon said, "I know well the passion and effort of the national team athletes who have sweated for the Winter Olympics, so my biggest feeling is to cheer them on," adding, "When I was an athlete, it was my dream to compete in the Olympics, and I'm happy that I feel I have achieved that dream as a singer."
ENHYPEN, the group Sunghoon belongs to, recently made a comeback with its seventh mini-album "THESIN:VANISH."
