Veteran actor Nam Jeong-hee has died. She was 84.
According to the film industry on the 24th, she died at home on the 22nd. Her health was said to have worsened after spinal surgery about a year ago.
Born in 1942, Nam Jeong-hee debuted with the film "The Tale of Sim Cheong" in 1962 and appeared in more than 300 films.
After a brief hiatus, she resumed acting in 1989. She appeared in Im Kwon-taek's "Festival" (1996), "The Window" (1997), "Chunhyang" (2000), and Bae Chang-ho's "Affection" (2000). She also took part in "A Werewolf Boy" (2012) and "Brother" (2021), steadily continuing her acting career.
She also appeared in the drama "Sandglass" (1995), "My Husband Got a Family" (2012), and "Once Again" (2020).
In 2011, at the 48th Grand Bell Awards, she received the special acting award.
The mortuary is at Yonsei University Severance Hospital in Sinchon. The funeral will be on the 26th, and the burial site is Yeongnak Park.
