Singer Sung Si Kyung, ahead of a performance, shared that he has become stricter with himself recently and expressed his convictions about the attitude artists should have.
On the 23rd, a video titled Sung Si Kyung's I'll eat l Nonhyeon-dong Baekamwang Sundae was posted on the YouTube channel Sung Si Kyung.
That day, Sung Si Kyung visited his regular soondae guk restaurant near Gangnam District Office. In the video, Sung Si Kyung said it was about ten days before the concert and said, "I quit smoking more than three weeks ago, and I hardly drink," updating his condition. He added, "Getting older doesn't guarantee these things will definitely have an effect, but it's a kind of ritual."
He then said, "If I keep these things, good luck will come to me; if I eat mugwort and garlic I'll become human — that kind of feeling," and emphasized, "It's not that me becoming human is important; it's for the people who come to the shows."
In particular, Sung Si Kyung candidly drew attention by setting his own standards for drinking and smoking before performances, saying, "You can't be pounding two bottles of soju and chain-smoking until the day before a show. That seems like a matter of manners." He added, "So I came thinking I'll just enjoy half a bottle of soju at today's shoot."
After the mukbang, Sung Si Kyung finished the drinking session after one beer and half a bottle of soju, saying, "These days I only drink sparkling water at night. It's been a very long time since I drank beer like this," showing he was keeping his promise to himself.
Meanwhile, from Dec. 25 to 28 last year, Sung Si Kyung held his solo concert "2025 Sung Si Kyung year-end concert 'Sung Si Kyung'" at Seoul Olympic Park KSPO DOME (Olympic Gymnastics Arena) and presented a stage celebrating his 25th debut anniversary. He concluded the performances successfully, sharing deep rapport with the audience through classic hits and sincere talk.
