Comedian Park Na-rae was spotted for the first time since pausing her activities.
On the 23rd, Ilgan Sports reported that she was spotted in front of Academy A, which teaches makgeolli brewing techniques, located in downtown Seoul late on the evening of the 21st.
According to the report, Park Na-rae visited the academy with a male acquaintance who has been staying by her side after she effectively lost her manager. Park Na-rae said, "I came because I have a class. It starts soon so I have to go in right away," and when asked what she was learning she replied, "I have to do something."
The academy Park Na-rae attended is known as an educational institution that teaches how to brew traditional liquors such as makgeolli and dongdongju. Lectures are divided by levels such as beginner, intermediate and advanced, and they cover a variety of types of alcohol including traditional liquor, kaoliang liquor and wine. Park Na-rae is reported to be taking a makgeolli production course there and attends class once a week.
The man who stays by Park Na-rae's side said, "Park Na-rae is currently going through a very difficult and hard emotional time. To alleviate that even a little, she carefully considered among the things she is interested in and chose it with difficulty. She needed an environment where she could emotionally concentrate. It's a place to study."
He also said, "Even when Park Na-rae is alone in lonely situations, she is trying to overcome it. She is preparing to give very sincere testimony for parts that will require police investigation in the future." Park Na-rae took a class of about 1 hour and 30 minutes at this academy and then returned home.
Meanwhile, on the 3rd of last month, the so-called "Park Na-rae serial controversy" began when former managers announced they would file a lawsuit seeking damages against Park Na-rae and applied for provisional seizure of real estate. In this fight, which began with allegations of workplace harassment and unpaid wages, the former managers have filed complaints against Park Na-rae on charges including special injury, defamation, violation of the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, and embezzlement under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Economic Crimes. Park Na-rae's side also counter-sued the former managers on charges of attempted extortion and embezzlement in the course of duty and took a tough response.
