JJ Music Group announces the start of its long-term music IP project "SOFA."
JJ Music Group will release the digital single "In memories" through various online music sites at noon on the 23rd. "In memories" is the first song of JJ Music Group's long-term music project "SOFA," and Dayoung, formerly of ANS, Yujin, formerly of eite, and Jaehee, formerly of Weeekly, participated in the vocals.
"SOFA" is JJ Music Group's mid- to long-term planning project that aims to propose a space where artists and listeners can linger emotionally, in a music market centered on trends that are quickly consumed and disappear.
"In memories" is a hip-hop-based ballad in which the voices of three artists—Dayoung, Yujin and Jaehee—who passed through different times and stages intersect into a single memory. Each part reveals the individuality of the three artists while organically connecting like one story, and it clearly shows JJ Music Group's planning direction to build a high-quality music IP under a common theme beyond one-off collaborations.
Producing was handled by GK, a producer and artist affiliated with JJ Music Group. GK has steadily built an emotion-centered musical world by drawing out the universal subject of memory through restrained melodies and honest lyrics. Arranger SINGKI participated, delicately expanding the song's emotional line with a minimal piano line and progressively layered string sounds.
In particular, "In memories" is a song that modernly unpacks the musical keyword "Gangnam Pop," presented by JJ Music Group. Based on sophisticated urban sensibility and refined sound, it naturally combines hip-hop rhythm with the lyricism of ballad, capturing everyday emotions and memories delicately instead of excessive stimulation. It is also the first chapter that symbolically shows the direction of the SOFA project, which hopes music will remain as memory beyond consumption.
The SOFA project, true to its name, is a long-term IP that proposes an emotional space to rest briefly through music with comfort (SOFA) as its keyword. JJ Music Group plans to continuously accumulate emotion-centered music without being limited to specific artists or genres, building a single narrative musical world. At the same time, it is a strategy that aims for music IP as content assets that can be taken out and listened to again over time, beyond one-off single releases.
