Singer and actor Park Yuchun opened up about rumors surrounding him.
Park Yuchun posted on his social media on the 22nd in Japanese, saying, "There are so many rumors that I have never thought about or talked about."
He pleaded, "I heard it for the first time today and was so shocked," and asked, "I hope you will only believe the things I have said myself."
Park Yuchun debuted in 2003 with TVXQ!, gained great popularity, but after leaving the group in 2009 he re-debuted as JYJ with Kim Jaejoong and Kim Junsu. He later expanded his activities by also working as an actor, but in 2016 a sexual misconduct controversy and in 2019 an allegation of methamphetamine use caused another major uproar.
At the time, Park Yuchun held a press conference and strongly denied, "I have never taken drugs nor have I ever offered them. If it were true, I would retire from the entertainment industry," but he was ultimately arrested on drug use charges and sentenced to 10 months in prison with a two-year suspended sentence. He later declared his retirement from the entertainment industry but reversed that decision and has continued activities overseas, mainly in Japan and Thailand.
