Singer and actress Son Dam-bi candidly revealed her realistic body-management tips along with changes in her body after childbirth.
On the 23rd, a video titled "Son Dam-bi's crazy health management methods | New year health discipline | abs management | squash | home training" was released on Son Dam-bi's YouTube channel "Dambison." In the video, Son Dam-bi answered questions about body management that poured in after childbirth herself, sharing an unvarnished update that drew attention.
Son Dam-bi opened by saying, "Lately there are so many comments asking 'Is it true you have abs?' and 'How do you manage after childbirth?'" She continued, "I had a cesarean section. Those who have experienced it know recovery is really not easy," and added, "It took a long time for the rectus abdominis to settle back into place, so I worked very hard."
However, she said frankly, "They are not perfect abs yet. It's just that the lines have started to become visible little by little," and added, "I'm still maintaining it as a sustain-eater." The unexaggerated expression conveyed an attitude of accepting bodily changes after childbirth as they are.
She did not hide complaints about changes in stamina. Son Dam-bi said, "I feel that my stamina has dropped sharply after giving birth," and added, "I heard that if you don't take care of your wrists and ankles they immediately get wrecked," drawing realistic empathy. She acknowledged her changed body by saying, "Even if I exercise, my recovery speed isn't what it used to be."
The video also showed her enjoying squash with her husband, Lee Gyu-hyuk. Son Dam-bi explained, "On cold days like these it's more effective to sweat with squash and do abdominal exercises," and said, "I'm doing squash as fasted cardio."
After 45 minutes of squash, Son Dam-bi sat down on the floor and said, "This is truly the best cardio," and "My glutes hurt a lot from doing many lunges," but a refreshed smile spread across her face.
Back home, Son Dam-bi continued abdominal exercises on a yoga mat. She explained, "Because I did cardio earlier, the effect of the abdominal exercises is better," adding, "Women tend to have more fat on their stomachs, but after childbirth the belly shrinks, loses elasticity and sags easily. Then recovery becomes more difficult."
She shared her exercise philosophy, saying, "You need to do cardio and abdominal exercises together for the line to be properly formed." Son Dam-bi demonstrated abdominal routines such as sit-ups, crunches and planks herself, emphasizing, "Three sets are the minimum." She showed confidence, saying, "After three sets you feel like your stomach is being torn," while also saying, "the abdominal lines form before you know it."
