tvN variety show 'Cha's house' Cha Seung-won's era of hardship continued without end.
On the 22nd, the first broadcast of the tvN variety show 'Cha's house' revealed the struggles of three men determined to change their lives by conquering the world with spiciness. Cha Seung-won said, "I'm curious whether Thai sauce and doenjang stew go together. Thailand's kick is chili seeds and fish sauce," analyzed, and then said, "doenjang stew, so there should be solids. But I can't put my finger in it," mixing jokes before starting food development.
Unlike Cha Seung-won, Choo Sung Hoon did not like the spiciness of Thai-style sauce. He especially struggled with fish sauce containing fermented seafood. Choo Sung Hoon visited a Korean owner who runs a restaurant in Thailand. Choo Sung Hoon said, "Pineapple sauce has a color not found in Korea, and the taste is the same," and "I want it to suit the 2030 MZ, with fruit giving sweetness, sweet yet spicy, like a dipping sauce," describing the taste he wanted.
Choo Sung Hoon said, "This has a pineapple flavor but I want it spicier," and "actually I want it only this spicy. I want it for dipping or pouring," bringing a test sauce. The owner said, "You can't marinate with it. Pineapple can tenderize meat. Dipping should be okay," and "If you tell me just the direction you want, I can adjust everything beside you. It's more than possible." Because Choo Sung Hoon wanted a dipping-level spicy sauce, he was pleased.
While making the spicy sauce, Choo Sung Hoon suddenly complained about Cha Seung-won, saying, "I've been with Cha Seung-won for 15 years, but we pursue different tastes." He said, "He's fine and all, but I want to do it my way," and "expectations are rising. I hope it's really delicious," grumbling and bringing laughter.
When a spicy sauce using xanthan gum, sweet fruit and bird's eye chili was born, Choo Sung Hoon proudly took it to Cha Seung-won, saying, "There are two versions so people can choose; it's very good." Cha Seung-won evaluated that he liked the second recipe. Cha Seung-won said, "So it's sweet, tangy and spicy?" and "it's sour and sweet and unique. It's spicy. I actually think the second one is spicier. This is fine."
DinDin and Danny Gu arrived to assist them. DinDin acted silly but said what needed to be said. DinDin bluntly described his first impressions of Cha Seung-won and Choo Sung Hoon, saying, "The three of them were very scary. They looked like yakuza." Especially hearing DinDin say Cha Seung-won looked scary, Choo Sung Hoon said, "That's right. Cha Seung-won's face looked scarier," which left Cha Seung-won dumbfounded. Having debuted at an early age as a model with a sexy image and married, Cha Seung-won was astonished to be told out of the blue that he looked scary and like a yakuza.
Cha Seung-won retorted to Choo Sung Hoon, "You're scarier." Choo Sung Hoon said, "It's the eyebrows. Your eyebrows make you look scary," and Cha Seung-won, exasperated, said, "You can't just not have them," then showed no hesitation in making a fool of himself by doing a mantis dance with his long limbs.
