The late actress Song Yoo-jung marked her sorrowful fifth death anniversary.
Song Yoo-jung became a star in the sky on Jan. 23, 2021. She was 26. The news was reported two days after her death, and the sudden announcement brought deep shock and sadness to many, including the entertainment industry.
A close associate of the deceased at the time said, "It was so heartbreaking," and "I can't know exactly what worries she had, but she debuted in the entertainment industry at an early age and was deeply troubled by not achieving major success. She also once spoke about difficulties in her daily life," the associate said.
Born in 1994, Song Yoo-jung debuted in the entertainment industry after being selected as a cosmetics brand model. She began acting in 2013 through the MBC drama "Golden Rainbow" and steadily built her filmography by appearing in "Tell Me Your Wish," "School 2017," "To My Name" and others.
She also appeared in numerous music videos, giving the public a familiar face, including Nivv's "How are you still like this," Standing Egg's "From friend to lover," and iKON's "Parting road."
At the time, the deceased had signed an exclusive contract with Sublime Artist Agency in 2019 and was preparing for full-scale activities, so the sudden parting was even more heartbreaking. At the time, the agency said, "Song Yoo-jung was our friend who always gave happiness with her bright smile and an actor who performed with more passion than anyone," and "Please pray for the deceased so she can rest comfortably in a warm place," expressing grief.
The last post she left on her SNS while alive also made many hearts ache. A short caption, "chack," with a bright smile as she crouched down, and natural everyday photos posted the day before. To a friend's comment "I miss you," she replied "I miss you too," and to compliments about her beauty she responded "thank you," leaving behind affectionate traces intact.
Even now, her SNS is filled with memorial messages from domestic and international fans such as "REST IN PEACE," "I love you," "May you be comfortable there," and "May all your wishes come true."
