The group BTS will be able to hold a full-group comeback performance at Gwanghwamun Square.
Seoul City held an advisory panel meeting on the 22nd and decided to grant conditional use approval for the 'BTS 2026 comeback show' applied for by BigHit Music.
Seoul City presented passing the local festival safety management plan review as a prerequisite for final approval. At the same time, it added as a supplementary condition measures to ensure that the exit times of the performers and the audience do not overlap.
Earlier, BigHit Music applied for performance permission saying that on March 21 BTS would reveal the new song "ARIRANG," their first release in 3 years and 9 months, for the first time in Gwanghwamun. Seoul City said it would closely review the safety management plan, as a large crowd is expected to gather across the downtown area including Gwanghwamun Square on the day of the performance.
Meanwhile, BTS revealed the title of their fifth studio album, which will be released on March 20, on the global superfans platform Weverse on the 16th. They will also kick off a new world tour starting with a concert at Goyang Sports Complex on April 9.
