Group H.O.T member Kangta drew attention by candidly sharing his thoughts on marriage.
On the 21st, which aired on tvN Story variety show "What are you leaving behind?", Kangta and Tony Ahn appeared as guests and talked about their recent lives and life stories from their H.O.T days to the present.
When asked about his marriage plans that day, Kangta recounted a recent incident. He confessed, "I performed not long ago, and Heejun hyung came with his wife and the children. We all went to greet them, and hyung naturally called his wife 'yeobo' (honey)," adding, "That one word really hit me hard."
Tony Ahn, who heard this, also said, "That was really shocking," and deeply empathized. Both reacted that the sight of a colleague's "real-life husband" after long years as idols left a strong impression.
Lee Young-ja said, "It's a natural thing to say if you get married, but from a fan's perspective, we thought H.O.T would never marry," and added, "So thank you both for staying just as you are. Will you stay like that forever?" which drew laughter. Kangta paused for a moment and then gave a meaningful reply of "Who knows?", which stirred the studio.
Kangta has been publicly dating actress Jung Yu-mi since 2020. He said, "The wife and the two children were so pretty. Now that we're a bit older, to be honest, I was very jealous," subtly revealing his feelings about marriage and family.
Tony Ahn showed a slightly different perspective. He honestly said, "It wasn't so much that I was jealous of married life itself as I was really jealous of the children."
Afterwards, the two made an impromptu phone connection with Moon Heejun. Moon Heejun said, "I've heard that both of you are thinking about marriage," and jokingly added, "If you have a girlfriend and are willing to marry, I recommend having a child first," which brought laughs.
