Jisung and Park Hee-soon engage in an intense battle of wits.
In episode 7 of the MBC Friday-Saturday drama The Judge Returns (planning Namgung Seong-woo, Chang Jae-hoon, written by Kim Kwang-min, directed by Lee Jae-jin, Park Mi-yeon), which airs on the 23rd, Lee Han-young (played by Jisung) draws the suspicious gaze of Kang Shin-jin (played by Park Hee-soon).
In the previous broadcast, Lee Han-young not only exposed a ledger of military service corruption involving the child of a political and business figure and got a ticket to Seoul, but also dealt a major blow to Kang Shin-jin's selection as Minister of the Ministry of Justice. In response, Kang Shin-jin arranged a meal with Lee Han-young and set the fall of ministry candidate Woo Gyo-hoon (played by Jeon Jin-gi) as a task. Seizing the opportunity to eradicate great evil, Han-young, posing as Shin-jin's loyal subordinate while hiding his true nature, set out to find the key to solving this task.
As Lee Han-young heads to Seoul and the judiciary's balance of power shakes, a still released on the 22nd (today) depicts an ice-thin meal scene that keeps viewers on the edge of their seats.
Having begun life at the Seoul Central District Court, Lee Han-young confronts Kang Shin-jin at a restaurant. Hiding his claws to achieve the goal of implementing justice, Han-young is taken aback when he hears an unexpected remark from Shin-jin, who is a formidable opponent. Viewers are focusing on what kind of conversation passed between the two and what butterfly effect the tense psychological warfare, which reveals no true intentions, will trigger.
Meanwhile, after earlier receiving advice from his right-hand man Kim Jin-han (played by Jung Hee-tae) that "I still can't trust Lee Han-young," Kang Shin-jin falls into deep anguish. He, too, remains half in doubt, having investigated Han-young's family background and past. The uncertainty over whether Han-young's blade will turn on him or help him continues to fuel Shin-jin's suspicions. Curiosity grows over how long the uneasy peace between Lee Han-young and Kang Shin-jin, who are engaged in a strategic symbiotic relationship, can last.
