Down syndrome writer Jung Eun-hye (after name change Seo Eun-hye) opened up about her first marital fight with her husband, writer Cho Young Nam.
On the 21st, a video titled "How do couples with disabilities resolve conflicts? Eun-hye and Young Nam's first married fight" was posted on the YouTube channel 'NiFace_Eun hye Eun hye'.
That day Jung Eun-hye and Cho Young Nam met with a counselor and honestly talked about the conflict they experienced for the first time since their marriage. When asked whether her husband expresses his emotions well, Jung Eun-hye said, "He doesn't talk. He can't express himself well. It's nice when we're together, but oppa stays in his studio all the time and doesn't come up," showing her hurt feelings.
By contrast, Cho Young Nam explained, "When I'm angry I don't know how to let it out, so I go outside, and when I calm down I come back," saying he tried to avoid conflict in his own way.
Later, the couple's communication problems were exposed in their daily life footage. At mealtime, Jung Eun-hye asked, "Did you make the coffee?" but Cho Young Nam only smiled silently, and the conversation did not continue. After heading to their respective studios, they silently continued their work.
The conflict grew after a playful display of affection by a fellow writer during work. When a Down syndrome writer said to Cho Young Nam, "Young Nam, I love you," Jung Eun-hye, who heard it, showed displeasure, saying, "She's not my wife. She's not even my wife, what is that," Employees tried to mediate, saying it was a "joke," but Jung Eun-hye's feelings did not easily subside.
Even in the car on the way home, Jung Eun-hye said, "I really hate schedules. I wish I could just paint and live like this," and told her husband about the accumulated fatigue and stress, saying, "It's always work to set up schedules."
During the counseling session Cho Young Nam apologized, saying, "I'm always sorry. I should adjust, but I can't answer well. I called and he didn't answer, so my wife felt hurt," expressing his remorse. The counselor advised showing responses by nodding or gesturing to try to express one's intentions.
In response, Jung Eun-hye said, "When oppa apologizes to me I feel more sorry. It's okay even if you don't speak," and expressed affection, saying, "If you're beside me you help me, and it's nice to be together."
Meanwhile, Jung Eun-hye received much love for playing Han Jimin's twin sister in the tvN drama "Our Blues," and she married writer Cho Young Nam in May of last year.<
