HYBE-Geffen Records' global girl group KATSEYE has once again placed both a previous release and a new song simultaneously on the U.S. Billboard main song chart 'Hot 100,' kickstarting a 'dual-pull' popularity.
According to the latest chart released by Billboard on the 21st (local time) (Jan. 24 chart), the track 'Gabriela(가브리엘라)' from KATSEYE's second EP 'BEAUTIFUL CHAOS(뷰티풀 카오스)' rose to No. 24 on the 'Hot 100.' It has been on the chart for a cumulative 26 consecutive weeks. 'Gabriela,' released last year, stands out for its solid staying power as it holds the record for the longest-charting entry among girl group songs released last year.
Also, their new song 'Internet Girl(인터넷 걸)' landed at No. 59 on this week's 'Hot 100.' Even though it is not an official single and is a fan-favorite track, it continued its surge for a second week. The song, attractive for its flashy dance-pop sound and a highly catchy hook, has been loved worldwide as its so-called "emoji dance" spread on social media.
KATSEYE is also having a 'long run' on Billboard's main album chart. 'BEAUTIFUL CHAOS' ranked No. 43 on the 'Billboard 200.' Released in June last year, the album reached as high as No. 4 on that chart (July 12, 2025 chart) and then remained within the rankings for about five months without missing a single week. 'BEAUTIFUL CHAOS' was the seventh best-selling physical album in the U.S. last year (Luminate '2025 annual report'). KATSEYE's 'BEAUTIFUL CHAOS' was the only girl group album included in the 'top 10' in that category.
KATSEYE was formed through the audition project 'The Debut: Dream Academy' based on the 'K-pop methodology' and debuted in the U.S. in June 2024. Regarded as a representative success of the 'multi-home, multi-genre' strategy led by HYBE chairman Bang Si-hyuk, they were nominated in two categories at the 68th Grammy Awards to be held next month: 'Best New Artist' and 'Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.'
