Jan. 21, 2026, marks the third anniversary of actor Na Cheol's sudden passing at the age of 36. The deceased tragically passed away on Jan. 21, 2023, while receiving treatment after a deterioration in his health.
Born in 1986, Na Cheol made his debut as an actor in 2010 with the play "Anne's Diary" and began his path as a performer. Since then, he built his skills in numerous independent films and short films, and he demonstrated a distinctive presence across both television and film.
Na Cheol made any role his own. He appeared in films such as "Along with the Gods: The Two Worlds", "1987", "Extreme Job", "Hit-and-Run Squad", "Tune in for Love", "Sinkhole", "Concrete Utopia" and in dramas such as "The Good Wife", "Entourage", "Stranger 2", "Hospital Playlist season 2", "D.P.", "Happiness", "Through the Darkness", "A Superior Day", "Little Women", "Weak Hero Class 1", among others. In "Weak Hero Class 1" he played Kim Gilsu, delivering a chilling villainous performance that firmly etched his name in the public's mind.
Na Cheol was loved by fellow actors for his character as much as for his acting. In particular, actor Kim Goeun, who was close to him in life, visited the tree burial site shortly before the third anniversary and posted a photo mourning him with the message "I'll come again," creating a somber feeling. Kim Goeun expressed deep condolences at the time of his passing, calling him "the most wonderful actor Na Cheol, the most wonderful person, a father, a husband, a son, a friend."
