Hollywood actor Tommy Lee Jones' daughter, the late Victoria Jones, was reportedly pregnant before her death, a fact that has emerged belatedly and shocked many.
On the 21st (local time), foreign outlets including the Daily Mail reported that court documents indicated Victoria Jones was pregnant as of October last year. The released materials reportedly included the phrase "the attorney is aware that Victoria Jones is pregnant." It has not been clearly revealed whether she was pregnant at the time of her death, but the death certificate is reported to contain a record of "pregnant within the past year."
Victoria was found unconscious in the early morning of Jan. 1 at the Fairmont Hotel San Francisco, a luxury hotel in San Francisco, and was taken to a hospital but was eventually pronounced dead. She was 34. Local police said they responded to a report of an adult woman's death and that medical personnel pronounced her dead at the scene. An official cause of death has not been released, but local media have raised the possibility of a drug overdose.
The deceased had faced several legal problems during her life. Last year she was charged with public intoxication and obstruction of official duties in a public place, and in the same year she was involved in drug-related charges and a domestic violence incident and was awaiting trial. Psychiatric treatment and rehabilitation programs were discussed during this process.
Earlier, Tommy Lee Jones requested guardianship designation in 2023 for reasons of his daughter's health and safety, and the court accepted and then terminated the procedure later that year. Because his paternal love and concern for his daughter were great, this sad news is all the more heartbreaking.
Tommy Lee Jones is reported to be in deep sorrow. An associate told local media, "Even someone who seemed strong cannot bear the pain of losing a child," and added, "He is now spending a quiet period of mourning with his family."
Victoria Jones made a surprise appearance as a child actor in the 2002 film Men in Black II and later appeared intermittently in dramas and films. After becoming an adult she kept her distance from acting, but she had appeared with her father at official events, maintaining a presence.
