Debuting in comedy in 1999 with his trademark voice impressions, Kim Young-chul is notable not only for being an morning radio DJ for 10 years—so much so that "diligence" is called his specialty—but also for studying English every day for 23 years, making him an icon of meticulous self-management. In the broadcast, Kim Young-chul will share behind-the-scenes stories about losing sleep after receiving the show's invitation, his early days admiring the three top variety MCs Yu Jae-seok, Kang Ho-dong and Shin Dong-yeob, and how his challenge at the Montreal comedy festival became a turning point in his life. Along with an honest confession about family matters, his touching growth story of developing diligence while delivering newspapers in elementary school will add emotional weight. Even amid his wide-ranging entertainer's wit, his continual attention to Yu Jae-seok's reactions and their genuine chemistry are expected to bring laughs.
You can also hear the candid story of actress Park Shinhye, who turns any role into "Shin Hye's move." Now in her 24th year since debut, Park Shinhye recounts her debut story of how a single photo she sent at 13 to Lee Seung-hwan changed her fate, and the journey from living in a semi-basement and her family's sacrifices to becoming an irreplaceable actress. She reveals the story of her entire family moving to Seoul when she was in sixth grade so she could pursue her dream, her time as a singer trainee who endured hardship focusing on success to make ends meet, and behind-the-scenes stories related to her debut work "Stairway to Heaven." She also shares a surprising episode that brought laughter: when she entered Chung-Ang University's theater and film department and briefly paused activities for a year the year she turned 20.
You will also hear behind-the-scenes stories of Park Shinhye's landmark works, including "You're Beautiful," "The Heirs" and "Pinocchio," and diverse stories about her return to tvN after eight years in the drama "Undercover Miss Hong." She will candidly discuss taking a 20-year-old role in her mid-30s, the story of how she came to be called "Teacher Park" on set, and even give lessons on acting techniques. Expect down-to-earth stories about her unusual skill at grilling meat as the daughter of a barbecue restaurant owner and her dance skill that impressed Yu Jae-seok with a like JENNIE performance. From tearful feelings toward her father, who seemed like a superhero, to the relatable and moving human side of one of the entertainment world's most devoted daughters, Park Shinhye will convey empathy and emotion.
Attention is also focused on the story of Hou Deok-juk, a Chinese cuisine legend boasting 57 years of experience. Hou Deok-juk is a groundbreaking figure who was the first Korean chef to serve as an executive at a major corporation, and he will share various stories including behind-the-scenes of reaching the top 3 of Culinary Class Wars 2. In particular, when he appeared and Yu Jae-seok mentioned, "I once ate bulldojang in the past," Chef Hou responded, "You remember," revealing they were acquainted and drawing attention.
At 78, Chef Hou recounts with frank humor during Culinary Class Wars 2, "When I was having a hard time, I thought it might be better to be eliminated," and then says he actually felt regret when he was eliminated right before the final, bringing laughter. Viewers will also hear behind-the-scenes stories of the "dish that changed my life" he wanted to present in the final and the viral carrot dish, as well as the story behind his "Deok-juk mindset," which produced many devoted fans by showing the demeanor of a true elder throughout the competition. Chef Hou cites his wife without hesitation as the driving force behind his 57-year culinary career and shares the story of how, after many twists and turns, they finally held their wedding, drawing interest.
