Singer Chuu, who released her first full-length album "XO, My Cyberlove," revealed her passion for work.
Through the fashion magazine Singles' February issue photo spread, Chuu went beyond her previous bright and lovable image to convey a deeper musical world and a more mature atmosphere, showing the start of a new chapter.
In a subsequent interview about the album's lower-midrange vocals, "I sang in the vocal tone I can best produce from the intro to the end. I recorded so immersed that it finished without edits," she said, adding, "The choreography is also cutesy and charming but technically demanding, so I've been practicing a lot on my own."
About the pressure of a first full-length album, she said, "These days I pour myself into it to the point that I collapse asleep when I get home. This album especially feels like a 'challenge,'" and added frankly, "I think I'm really lucky to have met 'XO, My Cyberlove' at a time when I wanted to try new things."
About the message in this album, Chuu said, "This song is a story of AI learning and coming to know the emotion of 'love' like a human, but behind that is the message that we already act and love like AI." She answered that whereas in the past people conveyed feelings through words, looks, or holding hands, now expressing feelings through messages, emojis, and photos has become so natural that love can feel indirect and incomplete, yet people still want to be "consolidation" with each other, and she wanted to express that feeling through this album.
The story continued about Kim Ji-woo leading an ordinary daily life. She said she does not strictly separate Chuu on stage from herself, noting, "I'm happiest when I'm doing what I want to do." Travel, swimming, and writing in a diary are small routines that sustain her. As in a sentence she left in her phone notes, she added that she fills her days with the belief that "small things protect me and keep me going."
At the end of the interview, Chuu said, "I never want to lose the passion and sparkling heart I have for the work I'm doing now," and expressed her wish for the future: "I don't want to regret choosing this work; I want to keep going without wavering."
