Actor Jeon Tae-su has been gone for eight years. He was the dependable younger brother of his sister Ha Jiwon and Jeon Tae-su, who tried to build his own acting color.
On Jan. 21, 2026, it will be the eighth anniversary of actor Jeon Tae-su's passing at the age of 34. The late actor tragically died on Jan. 21, 2018, while receiving treatment for symptoms of depression he had long suffered from.
Born in 1984, Jeon Tae-su debuted in front of the public in 2007 in Twosome's music video "Are you doing well" and made his debut. Early in his career he attracted great attention as the younger brother of top actor Ha Jiwon, but rather than relying on his sister's halo, he focused on building his own filmography.
Jeon Tae-su proved his potential as an actor by portraying a variety of characters with a face that combined good and evil and stable acting skills. He appeared in the dramas "Kid Gang", "A good day to love", "The king and I", "Sungkyunkwan scandal", "It's okay, dad daughter", "All My Love", "I came, I came, I really came", "I'll tell you a story that will surprise you", "The royal palace cruel history: war of the flowers", and "The king's daughter Su Baek-hyang", and he drew great attention by showing a chilling yet charismatic villain performance in "Sungkyunkwan scandal".
It was even more tragic because Jeon Tae-su was known to have shown a strong will toward acting while alive. At the time of his death his depressive symptoms had improved and he was in the midst of discussing a concrete return, so the sudden news dealt a great shock and sorrow to fans and colleagues who remember him.
After losing her younger brother, his sister Ha Jiwon posted on her social media, "My beautiful star, may that star be born into a world that shines endlessly. My beloved star, Jeon Tae-su. Be happy," along with a photo of her brother smiling brightly, conveying deep longing.
Although he ended his life early at the young age of 30s, the look in his eyes and his voice shown in his works still remain in the memories of fans.
