Netflix's "Death Game" released a second teaser, officially heralding the dawn of one-on-one brainy battles.
Netflix daily variety show Netflix (Netflix) "Death Game" (directed by Kwon Dae-hyun, produced by TEO), which will premiere at 5 p.m. on the 28th, is a one-on-one brainy final match decided by a single game each week. As a new-concept survival that excludes politics and alliances and relies solely on intellect, Lee Sedol, Hong Jin-ho, Pani Bottle, Yurisa, Seven High, Park Sung-woong, Napoli Mafia (Chef Kwon Seong-jun), Pengsoo, and lawyer Yang Na-rae, among representatives from various fields, are on the lineup, raising expectations.
The newly released second teaser captures the contestants' determination, which vividly reveals their tendencies and draws attention. Lee Sedol, who expressed confidence by saying, "I've played one-on-one games for a long time," stands out, and Pani Bottle's adventurous side, who said, "I'll just do what I want and go out with a bang," is also striking. Also featured are Yurisa, who vowed, "I'll be the one to drop them," and Seven High, who said, "I'll keep winning until I can win," hinting at fierce competition.
Park Sung-woong elicits laughter with contrasting behavior, at times relaxed saying, "They said there will be no contact," and at other times saying, "No, come over here," while Pengsoo adds unexpected humor in a tense moment by asking, "If you lose this, you don't actually die, right?" Meanwhile, Hong Jin-ho left a cryptic remark, "Will that person do well?" increasing curiosity about who his opponent might be.
The winner of "Death Game" will receive a prize of 10 million won and advance to the next match to accumulate prize money. The loser, on the other hand, is immediately eliminated under the rules, heightening tension. Broadcaster Park Sang-hyun and commentator Jang Dong-min will provide live coverage of the one-on-one deathmatches to add vivid on-site sensation.
At the end of the teaser video, with the determination "I will definitely take the 10 million won," the intense players' varied expressions as they enter full matches promise unprecedented immersion. In particular, Jang Dong-min's excited remark, "Heaven helped me," hints at an unpredictable development and raises curiosity to a peak.
Explosive interest in "Death Game" continues. After the first teaser was released, reactions calling it a "great survival consolidation" poured in, citing lineups that made survival fans' hearts race, including The Genius, The Devil's Plan, Bloody Game, and Culinary Class Wars. In particular, Jang Dong-min, who had always appeared as a player, transformed into a commentator and received praise such as "It's fresh" and "I'm looking forward to seeing him as a commentator," and the appearance of Pengsoo, entering brain survival for the first time, has also drawn hot anticipation from fans.
"Death Game" will release episodes 1 and 2 on Netflix at 5 p.m. on Wed., Jan. 28. After that, one episode will be released sequentially every Wednesday at 5 p.m.
