The late Ahn Sung-ki ranked first in the movie actor brand reputation.
On the 20th the Korea Corporate Reputation Research Institute said that its big data analysis of movie actor brand reputation for January 2026 found Ahn Sung-ki in first place, Koo Kyo-hwan in second and Kim Woo-bin in third.
The January 2026 movie actor brand reputation top 30 rankings were Ahn Sung-ki, Koo Kyo-hwan, Kim Woo-bin, Mun Ka-young, Lee Je-hoon, Lee Seo-jin, Go Youn-jung, Hyunbin, Byun Yo-Han, Park Seo Jun, Park Si-Hoo, Kim Da-mi, Kim Hye Jun, Han Jimin, Lee Byung-hun, Lee Young-ae, Lee Jung-jae, Jung Jun-ho, Yoo Ji-tae, Gong Yoo, Son Suk-ku, Yoon Kye Sang, Yoo Jae-myung, Song Ji-hyo, Ha Jung-woo, Son Ye-jin, Ryu Jun-yeol, Lee Joo-young, Kim Ji-young, Jeon Do-yeon.
The deceased was being treated in the intensive care unit at Soonchunhyang University Hospital in Yongsan District, Seoul, at 9 a.m. on the 5th when he died at the age of 74 with his family at his side. It came six days after he was transported from his home on the 30th of last month after collapsing with food lodged in his throat and had been unconscious while receiving treatment.
Honoring the deceased, who had been a living witness to the Korean film industry for about 60 years since his child acting days, the funeral was held as a film industry funeral organized by the Shin Young-kyun Arts and Cultural Foundation and The Korea Film Actors Association. Honorary chair Shin Young-kyun, director Bae Chang-ho, The Korea Film Actors Association chairman Lee Gap-seong, acting head of the Shin Young-kyun Arts and Cultural Foundation Shin Eon-sik, and Korea Film Association chairman Yang Yun-ho served as four co-chairs of the funeral committee.
In the brand reputation survey, specific figures for Ahn Sung-ki, who ranked first, were analyzed as participation index 6,638,469, media index 4,047,342, communication index 6,178,569 and community index 7,012,076, producing a brand reputation index of 23,876,456.
The second-place Koo Kyo-hwan brand had a participation index of 919,006, media index of 1,193,067, communication index of 1,252,004 and community index of 1,669,253, yielding a brand reputation index of 5,033,330.
The third-place Kim Woo-bin brand had a participation index of 1,089,766, media index of 1,452,152, communication index of 1,026,916 and community index of 1,383,609, resulting in a brand reputation index of 4,952,443.
The fourth-place Mun Ka-young brand had a participation index of 1,029,249, media index of 1,314,470, communication index of 1,025,749 and community index of 1,580,171, producing a brand reputation index of 4,949,638.
The fifth-place Lee Jay-hoon brand had a participation index of 1,372,176, media index of 851,035, communication index of 710,336 and community index of 1,460,080, resulting in a brand reputation index of 4,393,626.
Koo Chang-hwan, director of the Korea Corporate Reputation Research Institute, said the big data analysis of movie actor brand reputation for January 2026 showed the Ahn Sung-ki brand ranked first. He noted that comparing the movie actor brand big data of 147,672,591 items in December with the current figure shows a 32.35% increase. In detailed analysis, brand consumption rose 63.00%, brand issue rose 45.34%, brand communication rose 10.27% and brand diffusion rose 26.52%, he said.
He added that in link analysis of the Ahn Sung-ki brand, which ranked first in the January 2026 movie actor brand reputation, "영면하다," "솔선수범하다," and "착하다" were highly analyzed, and in keyword analysis "national actor," "O So-young," and "Park Joong-hoon" were highly analyzed. He said the positive-negative ratio analysis showed a positive rate of 97.87%.

The Korea Corporate Reputation Research Institute analyzed 195,441,812 pieces of brand big data on 100 movie actors loved by Korean consumers from Dec. 20, 2025, to Jan. 20, 2026, classifying consumer and brand relationships and applying a big data reputation algorithm. Compared with 147,672,591 pieces of movie actor brand big data in December, this represents a 32.35% increase.
The brand reputation index is an indicator produced by extracting brand big data and analyzing consumer behavior to classify participation value, communication value, media value, community value and social value and applying weights for positive and negative ratios. In the movie actor brand reputation index, consumer brand consumption patterns were analyzed using participation index, media index, communication index and community index.
