'Run to Live crew' delighted in a healing day and then launched into high-intensity winter training in a roller-coaster development that kept viewers from taking their eyes off it even for a moment.
On Mon., the 19th, episode 8 of MBN Run to Live 2, which aired, showed the Run to Live crew, having finished the '2025 MBN Seoul Marathon,' moving to Asan, Chungcheongnam-do, where they enjoyed a rare restful healing day. They also launched into a team 'group sub-3 (a record of finishing a full marathon within 3 hours)' project in bitter cold and, with determined teamwork, completed the mission to deliver an exhilarating catharsis.
After safely finishing the '2025 MBN Seoul Marathon' event, the Run to Live crew boarded a tour bus that day under the lead of director Kwon Eun-ju. Almost as if kidnapped, they rode the bus for more than two hours and arrived in Asan, Chungcheongnam-do. Lee Young-pyo said, "Isn't this place famous for hot springs?" expressing his expectations, and in fact the Run to Live crew enjoyed the hot springs and then continued with a barbecue party in the lodging yard. Yang Se-hyung took care of the members in 'Gogupnam' mode, and even peeled shrimp shells for Im Soo-hyang, who likes shrimp.
Im Soo-hyang praised, "A man who peels shrimp (the shells) is the real deal~; it's tastier because Se-hyung oppa peeled them," prompting Yoo Seon-ho to jokingly ask, "Then how many points is your favorability toward Se-hyung? If he proposed marriage, would you say yes?" Im Soo-hyang answered, "About 8 to 9 out of 10?," adding, "A good person as a colleague!" At the pink atmosphere between the two, Lee Young-pyo overinvested, asking, "Is it okay to confess like this on the show?" and "Does this mean asking to take one step closer?" which turned the set into a sea of laughter.
In the early dawn of the next day, the Run to Live crew got up early to director Kwon Eun-ju's 'wake-up alarm' and moved to the I Sunsin Sports Complex. Director Kwon Eun-ju said, "In a month we'll hold the 'best crew contest.' We need to train for that." Immediately after, Stone (Won Hyeong-seok), a running creator famous online, made a surprise appearance as a one-day crew. Stone is a 'masters top 1%' runner with records of 10 km in the low 32 minutes and a full course in 2 hours 26 minutes, and Yang Se-hyung excitedly asked, "Are we receiving Stone's know-how today?" The training Stone prepared was a 'full-course sub-3' project and it was a team event, not an individual one. The entire Run to Live crew would take turns running 1 km each to complete 40 km, and the remaining 2.195 km would be covered by Stone and Go Han-min.
Shun and Lee Young-pyo were nervous, saying, "To succeed at 'sub-3' you have to average 4 minutes 15 seconds per kilometer, so it's not easy," but Stone surprised everyone by running the first 1 km in the 2-minute range. Following him, Go Han-min, Lee Young-pyo, and Shun ran in the 3-minute range, increasing the chance of success, and even Lee Gikwang, who was not in good condition due to adductor and iliopsoas injuries, showed fighting spirit by splitting the distance in the 4 minutes 30 seconds range, saying, "I won't be a burden to the team." Im Soo-hyang also gave her all, saying, "It can't fail because of me." Moved by the Run to Live crew's passion, Shun said, "I'm so grateful. Everyone gave their bodies so my dream of succeeding at 'sub-3' could come true. It was touching."
Of course, from the third set gusts of wind swept in and lactic acid accumulated, bringing crisis, but Go Han-min played the 'ace' role properly in the final section. As a result, the Run to Live crew succeeded in the 'group sub-3,' recording 2 hours 43 minutes 59 seconds. Shun said, "I'm so happy. It was moving that the members poured everything in and did their best until the end," and the members embraced one another to share the joy of mission success.
After training, the Run to Live crew rested while eating eel and talked about 'masters running.' Stone explained the secret to improving his records: "I increased my training volume. I ran 550 km a month. Training volume doesn't betray you." Then, as he was saying, "The athlete I'm learning a lot from is Shim Jin-seok," Go Han-min surprised everyone by saying, "Shim Jin-seok just called." Shim Jin-seok warmly responded to the appearance offer on Run to Live by saying, "I'll definitely go. Stamped!"
Before the healing emotion had fully faded, afternoon training continued. Arriving at the Gokgyocheon ginkgo tree-lined road, director Kwon Eun-ju admired, "The ginkgo trees are spread like a carpet," and immediately announced a '5-on-5 tail-chasing' team competition. Divided into the red team (Stone·Yoo Seon-ho·Im Soo-hyang·Choi Young-Jun·Shun) and the blue team (Lee Young-pyo·Go Han-min·Lee Gikwang·Yang Se-hyung·Jeong He-in), they started from opposite areas and accumulated distance for 40 minutes by moving clockwise and catching tails; Stone expressed his competitive spirit, saying, "The target is Lee Young-pyo!" In reality, Stone's chase allowed Lee Young-pyo to catch Im Soo-hyang, but he was immediately caught by Stone, completing a 'mutual catch' drama. Afterwards, Shun cut Yang Se-hyung's tail to create a reversal, and Jeong He-in chased Yoo Seon-ho to the end but narrowly missed. The final accumulated distance was 37.24 km for the blue team and 30.62 km for the red team, and the blue team won by a margin of 6.65 km, wrapping up the second day of the training camp thrillingly.
