Concerns are growing as an update on Seungri, a former member of the group Big Bang, has been revealed.
On the 19th, a video titled 'Investigator Oh Hyuk-jin's special reporting file revealed, from Hwang Hana and Seungri to Park Yuchun' was released on the YouTube channel 'Jirit Jirit.'
Seungri, who was identified as a key figure in the 2019 Burning Sun gate, was released after serving 1 year and 6 months in prison in February 2023 after being convicted on nine charges including habitual gambling, prostitution, arranging prostitution, violating the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment of Sex Crimes, violating the Foreign Exchange Transactions Act, violating the Food Sanitation Act, embezzlement in the course of business, violation of the Act on Aggravated Punishment of Specific Economic Crimes (embezzlement), and suspicion of instigating a special assault, among others.
After being expelled from the domestic entertainment industry, Seungri reinvented himself as a businessman and mostly worked abroad, though he was occasionally spotted in Korea. He was photographed eating with a woman at a bone soup hangover restaurant located in Songpa-gu, Seoul, which drew attention, and he was also prominently reported for appearing at a nightclub in Hangzhou, China.
Recently, a photo of Seungri with a businessman was also released. Seungri, whose body had grown to an extent that could not be compared to when he was active with the group, shocked people with a missing jawline and a protruding belly.
In particular, Seungri was reported to have visited the club pub 'Prince Brewing,' known to have been operated by Prince Holdings, a Chinese-Cambodian company accused of being behind crimes in Cambodia.
An update on Seungri was revealed in this context. On 'Jirit Jirit,' reporter Oh Hyuk-jin explained, "He parties with Cambodian crime compound executives, like a second Burning Sun in Cambodia to our country."
Reporter Oh said, "There are reports that he associates with money launderers, people who do voice phishing and those kinds of activities, mostly people connected to casinos, and that he parties with Cambodian crime compound executives. They probably tried to create something like a second Burning Sun in Cambodia to our country."
He added, "In Southeast Asia, he still has the image of being a former member of Big Bang. Because of that, it seems he was trying to prepare illegal businesses, and as far as I know, he now mainly goes back and forth to Thailand."
