Actor Kim Taeri will appear on her first regular variety show since her debut.
tvN "After-school Teacher Taeri" (produced by Studio Slam) is a new reality variety show that deals with the only after-school theater class in the world, opened at an elementary school in a small town. Kim Taeri, Choi Hyun-wook, and Kangnam have confirmed their appearances, raising expectations for the program.
Kim Taeri takes on a new challenge with her first regular variety show appearance since her debut. Having shown a wide range across romance, sci-fi, historical drama and even traditional Korean theater, she now takes on the role of an elementary school drama club teacher. Kim Taeri said she actually began acting in a university theater club. Attention is focused on her challenge as the drama club teacher.
Joining Kim Taeri to lead the drama club as assistant teachers are Choi Hyun-wook and Kangnam. Choi Hyun-wook is a drama club counselor who listens even to the children's small voices, and at times elicits laughs with an unexpected clumsiness while showing perfect chemistry with the children. The addition of Kangnam, maxed out on affability, also draws interest. Kangnam disarms everyone with his unique friendliness and is said to act as the undisputed mood maker of the drama club. The trio, who are teachers for the first time, and the elementary students' chaotic chemistry are expected to be unmissable viewing points.
The production team said, "'After-school Teacher Taeri' was inspired by the fact that actual after-school activities revived schools facing closure," and added, "Please show much interest and support for the one-of-a-kind theater club class where first-time teachers Kim Taeri, Choi Hyun-wook and Kangnam and the drama club children come together."
tvN's new variety show "After-school Teacher Taeri" is scheduled to premiere on Sunday, Feb. 22, at 7:40 p.m.
