'Geukhan84' released two official posters capturing the crew's determined challenge and the atmosphere on site ahead of the Arctic Polar Circle Marathon. The posters symbolically depict the overwhelming nature of the Arctic that the Geukhan crew faces and the beginning of the final race to be held there.
On the 18th, the MBC entertainment show 'Geukhan84' episode 8 aired, depicting Kian84, Kwon Hwa Woon and Kangnam finally entering the final race on the harshest stage, the Arctic. Before the start, the three experienced steep snowy slopes and a glacier section of up to 10 km firsthand through reconnaissance and test running, feeling the difficulty of the Arctic marathon with their whole bodies.
That episode recorded a household rating of 4.5%, setting a new personal best, and the scene in which Kwon Hwa Woon faced a crisis while competing for the lead surged to a peak minute rating of 7.1%, drawing viewers into the show. The 2054 rating also rose to 2.2%, demonstrating strong interest in the Arctic race. (Nielsen Korea, Seoul metropolitan area basis)
The first released poster shows Kian84, Kwon Hwa Woon and Kangnam standing side by side against a backdrop of an endless snowy field and a massive glacier. Wearing thick cold-weather gear, the three show bright expressions and relaxed poses even in the Arctic's cold nature, displaying the teamwork and confidence of the crew who have run together so far. Even amid the tension before the final marathon, the crew preparing for the race happily and relying on each other is conveyed as is.
The second poster captures a moment in which Kian84 bonds with a dog in the Arctic. Unlike the race unfolding in the cold, harsh nature, this poster conveys warm emotions and human warmth blooming within the Arctic scenery. Kian84's ability to keep smiling and stay relaxed even in extreme conditions shows the unique appeal of 'Geukhan84' and highlights the crew's sincerity and unity toward their final challenge.
Kian84 set foot on the Arctic marathon starting line with a visibly more relaxed expression, saying he would let go of pressure and burden and "just enjoy running again," while Kwon Hwa Woon, saying "to be honest, I have no confidence," still showed determination toward competing for the lead. Kangnam, too, started his first-ever marathon in the Arctic and set the goal of "finishing to the end."
The final journey of the expedition marathon crew testing limits, the challenge of the Arctic Polar Circle Marathon, can be seen on 'Geukhan84,' which airs every Sunday at 9:10 p.m.<
