TV CHOSUN's 'Survival King,' which determines Korea's ultimate survival champion, returns with new faces and season 2.
'Survival King 2,' scheduled to air in the first half of this year, raises expectations by adding new cast members including Kim Byoung-man, who was crowned the inaugural survival king, Kim Jong Kook, Younghoon of the idol group The Boyz, and broadcaster Yuk Jun-seo, a former UDT member. Kim Jong Kook will serve as MC.
If 'Survival King' season 1 staged fierce contests in the wild jungle centered on Korean entertainers and athletes, season 2 will form a "Korea team" made up of Kim Byoung-man, Younghoon and Yuk Jun-seo, inviting a total of 12 well-known entertainers from Taiwan, Japan and Malaysia to compete, creating Taiwan, Japan and Malaysia teams for a "global team competition."
The four teams will compete in survival challenges across Taiwan for 10 days. Through an "extreme survival" that combines not only physical strength but also the wisdom and strategy for survival and teamwork, the strongest global survival team will be determined.
Meanwhile, the 'Survival King 2' team departed on the 13th for location shooting in Taiwan, arrived in Hualien County, called "Taiwan's Gangwon Province," and began filming with a press conference. In addition to Hualien County, filming is expected to take place in distinctive cities that retain Taiwan's beautiful scenery, such as Pingtung County and Chiayi City, making them additional viewing points for 'Survival King 2.'
The production team asked for much interest, saying, "We hope that 'Survival King,' which determines Korea's ultimate survival champion, will become the definitive global survival program beyond just the domestic market."
TV CHOSUN's 'Survival King 2,' which will stage even fiercer survival competitions through global team battles, will meet viewers in the first half of this year.<
