Actor Jin Se Yun revealed why she chose Recipe For Love, raising anticipation for the premiere.
Recipe For Love, a new KBS 2TV weekend drama scheduled to premiere on the 31st (directed by Han Jun Seo, written by Park Ji Sook), is a family makeup drama about two households that were entangled in a bad blood for 30 years who resolve misunderstandings, heal each other's wounds, and ultimately are reborn as one family.
Jin Se Yun plays Gong Joo Ah, a former medical student who now works as a clothing designer for the Taehan group. Gong Joo Ah is a character who pursues her dreams and convictions head-on while showing an endlessly clear and pure charm in front of love. In particular, she faces the threat of dismissal after an unexpected accident, and attention is focused on how Jin Se Yun will portray Gong Joo Ah, who breaks through head-on with her characteristic positive energy.
Ahead of the premiere, Jin Se Yun said she decided to appear because she had always longed to do a bustling family drama. She said both families that appear in the drama were attractive with no overlapping characters.
She also spoke about the charm of the character Gong Joo Ah, saying, "She is very lovable. I wanted viewers to feel as if Joo Ah lives in the next neighborhood. So I tried to make the line delivery and speech as natural as possible." She added her affection for the work, saying, "She has a very positive disposition, so even when bad things happen she gets up quickly, and even when something regrettable happens she tries not to have regrets, which is similar to me."
Jin Se Yun described Gong Joo Ah with three keywords: "honesty," "brightness," and "ENFJ." "Joo Ah is honest about her feelings, and her basic emotional state is 'brightness.' I hope anyone who sees Joo Ah says she is honest and bright," she said, explaining the reason. She added, "If judged by MBTI, she would be an ENTJ who wants to be an ENFJ," predicting the character's multifaceted charm.
She also talked about her acting chemistry with her co-star Park Ki Woong. "Although 14 years have passed since Bridal Mask, I felt that the acting chemistry from that time came back naturally. Because we are already familiar with each other's acting styles, that part is the most comfortable," she said, adding excitement about the romantic chemistry they will show.
Finally, Jin Se Yun said, "Because our drama tells the stories of both families, viewers can feel a range of emotions through big and small incidents. We will make a good work so that it can be a time of empathy and healing for viewers, so please look forward to it and show lots of interest."
