The home and daily life of Shin Woo-hyun, nephew of Chung Eui-sun, chairman of Hyundai Motor Group, and Korea's only FIA Formula 3 (F3) driver, were revealed through the broadcast.
On the MBC variety show Omniscient Interfering View, which aired on the 17th, Shin Woo-hyun's life in Korea, attracting attention as a member of the pro-Hyundai family, was depicted. The home shown that day drew attention for being structured not just as a simple living space but optimized for the life of a racing driver.
There was an unopened suitcase in Shin Woo-hyun's home. He said, "During the season I hardly come to Korea, and I only stay briefly in the off-season," and added, "This year alone I flew about 120 times," which surprised viewers. He had gone to filming just 13 hours after returning from France.
What drew attention was the private training space set up inside the house. Immediately after waking, Shin Woo-hyun checked his weight, put on his helmet and went straight into training. Seeing the training room equipped with a treadmill and various equipment, Yang Se-hyung marveled, "There is a staircase from hell inside the house." It was a scene where a private training facility for an athlete had been installed within a chaebol family's residence.
Diet management was also thorough. Shin Woo-hyun prepared meals separately from his mother, Ms. Jeong Yoon-yi. He said, "If you gain even 1kg, you can be 1 to 2 seconds off at the end of a race," and was seen checking the calories and weight of his food himself. After meals, he continued training by analyzing onboard footage and data in a room filled with racing equipment and materials.
Meanwhile, Shin Woo-hyun was born in 2004 and is a driver from the pro-Hyundai family, known as the nephew of Hyundai Motor Group chairman Chung Eui-sun. His mother, Ms. Jeong Yoon-yi, is the chairman's third older sister and the third daughter of honorary chairman Chung Mong-koo. Despite coming from a chaebol family background, Shin Woo-hyun is challenging the F3 stage with the goal of proving himself by results on the track rather than by his family name in the world of formula racing, which involves huge expenses and risks.<
